Those who have recently received an order from the official online store will have already noticed: LEGO has changed the internal and external packaging of its shipments by removing the white plastic strapping that we have all been used to for years and the bubbles. air that are used to wedge the products to replace them with materials considered more easily recyclable.
The strapping, which incidentally did not always arrive intact, is therefore now replaced by an adhesive tape made of kraft paper reinforced by a crossed fiberglass frame. In the packages, the plastic air bubbles used so far are now replaced by crumpled paper.
Both of these changes are obviously going in the right direction, as long as the packaging ends up in the correct bin and actually goes for recycling, and the reinforced tape is more secure than simple strapping bands that could often be easily removed and then put back in place. In the packages, LEGO will still have to manage to correctly dose the amount of crumpled paper, my last packages were a little poor in wedging.
In short, if you receive a package without the usual strapping, don't panic, it's normal. There will still be plastic inside, your LEGO products, but a little less than before.
