The sign Super Bricks recently offered the possibility of personalizing your LEGO parts thanks to a new printing service. The technique adopted is UV printing which has the advantage of allowing the production of small series or unique pieces with a relatively reasonable production cost compared to pad printing which involves very high fixed preparation costs, costs which are then not incurred. amortized only thanks to the quantity produced.
The result obtained by UV printing is quite acceptable on small surfaces, even if the process does not make it possible to obtain the visual uniformity guaranteed by pad printing, in particular on solid surfaces. The production times are much shorter than with pad printing, the drying of inks by polymerization under UV radiation being immediate.
This UV printing process which makes it possible not to "dig" the parts as is the case with the engraving already offered by several brands, is also used by LEGO for its Minifigure Factory installed in some LEGO Stores, a service that allows you to personalize and print very quickly on a souvenir minifig of your visit to the store.
As an example, in the photo above, Yoda's torso is pad printed, the other three pieces were printed by the sign. Up close, the ink drops deposited by the UV printer are visible, but the effect fades with distance and the ink overlay remains reasonable. The durability of the printed parts is excellent, as long as you take care of them.
To obtain personalized items, you must formulate your request using the form found at this address by adding the visuals you want to print and specifying the format and quantity. The brand will provide you with a quote, then it's up to you to see if the asking price is right for you.
In addition to the service that allows you to request the personalization of your elements, Super Briques sells more than a hundred pieces already printed with various and varied patterns such as city signs, road signs or accessories for your shops and your dioramas.
For those who take these parameters into account: the service is not subcontracted, the printing is carried out in France by the brand itself, on official LEGO parts and with inks meeting current standards.
