29/04/2011 - 12:54 Minifigure Series
It is the BrickJournal N ° 14 of April 2011 (Pages 62/63/64/65) which tells us a little more about the future of the series of collectible minifigs to come.
Series 4 has just been released, Series 5 is already announced and the visuals have been around the web, and the interview with Matthew Ashton, Senior Creative Director of LEGO Playthemes and IPs (Intellectual Properties) and Lead Designer for the "Collectible Minifig Series" tells us a little more about the next series.
He states that LEGO is currently working on series 6, 7 and 8 and the character selection has already been made. Series 6 is finalized and Series 7 is being finalized.
The interview also discusses the process of creating these series of minifigures, the reasons for the "mystery" packaging of each minifigure, and TLC's desire to reconnect with the market for characters sold individually to a clientele. 'children fond of these packaging containing a "surprise".
You can acquire this 84-page magazine in electronic format for the modest sum of $ 3.95 at this address at TwoMorrows Publishing.
