Samsofy's Little World

We no longer present Samsofy, Sofiane Samlal whose real name is, and LEGO fans have long been used to meeting this talented photographer present at many conventions and exhibitions. Endearing and available character, Samsofy is always ready to share his experiences, to explain his productions and never fails to dialogue with all those who take the trouble to come to meet him.

Samsofy regularly collaborates with many media and, without necessarily knowing it, you have certainly already come across one of his works featuring LEGO characters struggling with the real world on social networks or in one of the magazines that you read regularly.

Samsofy's Little World

You will tell me that photographers who use minifigs and put them in a quirky context are legion and you will be right. But Samsofy was able to add in each of these meticulously thought out and prepared photos that extra soul that makes all the difference. he also claims to use photo editing only when it is necessary, for example to remove the support of a levitating minifigure. For everything else, the sets, accessories and lighting get the job done.

It is no longer a question here of contemplating as a simple spectator the know-how of a professional photographer, but of entering the imaginary and quirky world of one who manages to create often funny, sometimes comical or more simply poetic atmospheres. thanks to a few pieces of plastic and a carefully thought out staging. Samsofy understood that it is not enough to take a close-up on a minifigure to provoke emotion.

Samsofy's Little World

The title of the recently released book is therefore not usurped. Over the 100 pages of Little world of Samsofy you will be able to discover this imaginary world and each shot should guide you a little further in the meanders of Sofiane's imagination.

At the beginning of the book, Samsofy gives us some manufacturing secrets with a four-page interview. You will discover how the artist creates his own sets, how he obtains or manufactures the essential accessories for certain scenes and what his sometimes tumultuous relationship is with the insects and snakes seen in certain photographs. It's a welcome bonus.

Samsofy's Little World

In the end, it is nicely done, the paper is of excellent quality and this beautiful book which brings together the most popular photos of the artist accompanied by a few less known but equally tasty shots would almost deserve to be more ambitious on the format to be able to admire more closely all the details of these scenes.

The Small World of Samsofy - 100 pages - 15.00 € at Omaké Books, on Fnac.com ou at Amazon.

Four copies of the book are put into play via the interface below. No participation via comments. Good luck to everyone.

lego starwars ucs 75192 millennium falcon contest winner

It's time to announce the name / nickname of the one who will receive the copy of the set LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon brought into play during the test published a few days ago.

I usually publish the name of the winner of each set put into play at the foot of the relevant article, but this contest more than deserved a separate announcement for the reason I detail below.

To be honest, a first winner drew lots, he was notified by email and he chose to skip his turn. This blog reader who wishes to remain anonymous asked me to put the set back into play, mentioning that he had already received his copy ordered on September 14 from the LEGO Shop. I still insisted on making sure I fully understood his decision and confirmed that he wished to forgo this gain, which was of considerable value.

Nice gesture on his part, he allows another reader to obtain this exceptional box. On the other hand, he does not pass his turn on the Hoth Bricks minifig, which I send him with pleasure. A second draw among all the comments was therefore made to designate the one who will receive the set.

Another detail, after long discussions, I was finally able to obtain from LEGO the replacement of the damaged instruction booklet. The winner will receive it directly at home by separate shipment. However, I could not do anything about the cardboard insert, which was also damaged. The set will exceptionally be sent by me via Chronopost with insurance at the actual value of the content (I usually ship the lots by Colissimo Monitoring with insurance).

Finally, I suggested that the winner write a little post if he wishes, summarizing his experience with this set that I will put online here. He knows that the parts were repackaged in bulk in the various bags re-sealed by me and that he will therefore have to sort all the 7500 parts before embarking on the assembly of this vessel.

Thank you to all the participants, bravo to the winner and a very big bravo to the one who generously passed his turn.

Without any guarantee of results, I can already tell you that I am currently negotiating the possibility of putting into play another copy of this box for the holiday season.

Below, the name / pseudo of the winner.

lego ninjago contest avenue des

If you like ninjas and the Ninjago range, today I have a special competition for you. On the game mechanics, nothing special: you participate, and at the finish there are as usual a lot of losers and a few lucky winners.

Regarding the endowment, there is however one important detail to note: The sign Games Avenue suggested that I put in play sets whose boxes are a little damaged instead of sending them to destruction. And I accepted because I think it's a great idea. These sets are sealed but their packaging has been chipped or crushed which obviously makes them difficult to market as is.

As I hate waste and all opportunities to allow blog readers to save a few euros are welcome, here is an opportunity to make you win some nice boxes including the much appreciated 70738 Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty released in 2015 and then marketed at the public price of 114.99 €.

As a precaution: Notice to the winners, you will have been warned. Do not come and reproach me for sending you boxes in bad condition état

No participation via comments. Five winners will share all the sets in play. The distribution of the prizes is indicated in the widget below. Good luck to everyone.

Note: If the initiative seems interesting (or not) to you, do not hesitate to mention it in the comments, people will read you.
