This image has been out for a few weeks now, but I wanted to wait until I had seen the film to better judge the appeal of this custom minifigure of one of the Green Lantern characters.
The film, which I ultimately enjoyed despite some initial reservations, is also available for pre-order on Amazon in Blu-ray and DVD versions with a release date scheduled for January 2012.
Tomar-Re is a Xudarian (therefore from the planet Xudar located in sector 2813), an important member of the Green Lantern brotherhood, who welcomes Hal Jordan and shows him around Oa in the film released this summer.
Regarding the minifigure, Fine Clonier used the torso from the exclusive Green Lantern minifigure released at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. The arms and legs are from a Woody (Toy Story) minifigure and were painted. The head is made of plastic resin and was custom-made. Ultimately, the result is truly impressive and easily on par with official LEGO production.
