Those who follow the news of LEGO Super Heroes novelties have already seen this minifigure which will be delivered in early 2015 in the set 76027 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike in the company of Batman, Scuba-Robin and Aquaman.
However, the visuals above allow us to discover what is hidden under Black Manta's helmet: Nothing. No head, even black. All the elements of the helmet (tubes and gray parts) are integral and cannot be dismantled.
LEGO has put the small dishes in the big to produce a version of Black Manta faithful to the one seen in the comics thanks to a new mold. Fans of space dioramas and alien creatures of all kinds will undoubtedly find an alternative use for this helmet.
We will also note a slight difference between the version above, which is supposed to be the definitive minifig that will be in the box of set 76027 and the version of the character in the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game (below) which has a pattern on the helmet collar. Too bad these patterns are not on the LEGO minifig.
Take a look at the passage on the Green Lantern minifigure in version New 52 which will be delivered in the set 76025 DC Comics: Green Lantern vs. Sinestro , above left alongside the exclusive version released during San Diego Comic Con 2011 (right).
With this new version, there is something for everyone: collectors have one more minifigure to add to their inventory and will have no regrets having spent a substantial amount to afford the exclusive version of the character. Fans who have so far regretted not being able to get Green Lantern at a reasonable price will be happy too.
