75275 lego starwars ultimate collector series awing box front

The big LEGO announcement of the day is the presentation of the LEGO Star Wars 75275 A-Wing Starfighter set, a large box of 1673 pieces that joins the range Ultimate Collector Series by taking advantage of the packaging to match that of other upcoming sets intended for adult fans (75274 Tie Fighter Pilot Helmet, 75276 Stormtrooper Helmet et 75277 Boba Fett Helmet).

This is not a remake or reinterpretation of an existing product, it is the first LEGO A-Wing RZ-1 Interceptor in UCS version. Until now we had to be content with the less ambitious and more or less successful versions seen in the sets 7134 A-Wing Fighter (2000) 6207 A-Wing Fighter (2006) 75003 A-Wing Starfighter (2013) 75175 A-Wing Starfighter (2017) or 75247 Rebel A-Wing Starfighter (2019)

We are promised an assembly experience that meets the expectations of the most demanding adult fans and you should be able to find a place on your shelves for this A-Wing in UCS version with reasonable dimensions: 42 cm long, 26 cm wide and 27 cm high presentation stand included.

The set also makes it possible to obtain a minifigure: a new generic pilot, which you could also call Arvel Crynyd, a presentation plate with some technical specifications of the ship (I would have put a "s" at "System") and we note that the canopy of the cockpit is an original piece specially designed for this version of the ship.

The public price of this large box is announced at 199.99 € for France and Belgium, 209.00 CHF in Switzerland. Availability from May 1, 2020 on the official online store.

We will talk about this box again very soon on the occasion of a "Review ".

LEGO Super Mario 71360 Adventures with Mario

LEGO is re-ordering the LEGO Super Mario set 71360 Adventures with Mario, but without the expansion pack 40414 Monty Mole & Super Mushroom Expansion Set offered at initial product launch. It is therefore necessary to pay 59.99 € to afford this starter pack alone but essential to be able to take advantage of the LEGO Super Mario ecosystem which will be gradually expanded through numerous extensions.

Frankly, it makes more sense to me to pre-order the set from one of the dealers who currently have a combined offer with the small polybag. 30385 Super Mushroom Surprise Expansion Set offered at no additional cost (see this article).

At FNAC.com: the LEGO Star Wars 75278 DO set is available

We're talking about the LEGO Star Wars set again 75278 D-0, a 2020 novelty officially presented during the last New York Toy Fair and which is now available for 74.99 € at Fnac.com while the product is still not listed on the official French online store.

For those who still wonder, this is not a droid capable of moving, the proposed construction is an exhibition model whose only functionality will be to turn the head of the little robot on it even and tilt it.

For the rest, the droid measures 28 cm high including support and it is accompanied by a figurine and a presentation plate without much interest as was already the case for other sets of the same type (75187BB-875230 Porg) already on the market. The droid is therefore not to the scale of the version seen on the screen, presented as 30cm high on the "information" plate.

According to FNAC, the product is in stock and available immediately. Express delivery is offered.

Update : the product is no longer listed online on FNAC.com. LEGO probably asked the sign to remove it.

new vip keychain exchange points lego

LEGO had promised to expand the awards catalog offered to members of the VIP program who prefer to exchange their points for a small gift rather than to take advantage of a reduction voucher to be used on a future purchase and the manufacturer takes a first step by adding a few "physical" products: key chains LEGO Star Wars BB-9E (LEGO ref. 853770), Star Destroyer (LEGO ref. 853767) and Landspeeder (LEGO ref. 853768) and the Brick Suit Guy keychain (LEGO ref. 853903).

You must redeem 500 (equiv. 3.34 €) or 550 points (equiv. 3.67 €) to obtain the code that allows you to add the chosen gift to your order. Knowing that these key rings were sold for € 4.99, you will save a little more than one euro per reference. Attention, you will have to generate the code via the dedicated interface then place an order online to be able to use the code provided and take advantage of the product "offered" in exchange for your precious points.

Otherwise, on April 10, you probably received an email offering you to participate in a raffle, in exchange for 50 VIP points per participation ticket, with a Maz Kanata minifigure signed by Arti Shah (the motion capture liner by actress Lupita Nyong'o) and locked in a UKG box with the grade "Gold" (a certification scale of collector products) to be won. The minifig is not exclusive, it is the one from the LEGO Star Wars set 75139 Battle on Takodana marketed in 2016.

Do not waste your time looking for where is the interface for participating in this raffle, it is still not online on the French version of the VIP rewards center ...

76147 Vulture's Trucker Robbery

Today we take a quick look at the LEGO Marvel Spider-Man set 76147 Vulture's Trucker Robbery (93 pieces - 24.99 €), a box flanked by the 4+ logo which is therefore aimed at an audience of very young fans of the Marvel universe.

Even if it is self-sufficient with a very balanced content that allows three young fans to stage a clash between Spider-Man on his motorcycle, Vulture and his mechanical wings and the armored van to escort, I see this box as a nice addition to the set 76149 The Menace of Mysterio of which it takes again the general framework, the robbery, and some elements like the white chests containing ingots and precious stones. It will be necessary to accept the idea that Spider-Man is duplicated but the two sets together allow for really fun.

Looking more closely, we see that this set is a good example of recycling many elements already used more or less frequently in the past: The armored van is logically composed of a few large parts including the gray frame which was already used as a base. for the vehicle from the LEGO Juniors Jurassic World set 10757 Raptor Rescue Truck in 2018 and for the garbage dumpster from the LEGO CITY set 60220 Garbage Truck in 2019.

76147 Vulture's Trucker Robbery

The big green hood is a bit rarer, it had not been seen in a set since 2008, when it was used for the CITY set truck 7733 Truck & Forklift. We especially remember the two green panels stamped with a diamond and the windshield holder already used for the green locomotive from the LEGO CITY set 60198 Freight Train (2018) but also for the truck of the set 76015 Doc Ock Truck Heist marketed in 2014.

The red motorbike also returns regularly in different sets since 2016, including some LEGO CITY and DC Comics boxes. Despite the inevitable assortment of colors reminiscent of the Spider-Man costume, here it lacks a few designs that truly identify the vehicle as Spider-Man's. Designers usually put it everywhere, so this bike without specific decoration seems a little too neutral to me.

Too bad the "armored" van is not completely closed, as it is, it looks more like a public works truck than anything else. The designer will no doubt have wanted to facilitate access to the rear of the vehicle to allow Vulture to steal the load when arriving by air. The same goes for the driver's cabin, which is not covered. It's far from believable, even for a very young fan, but we will do with it. Small funny detail, the rear part of the van is ejectable via a very simple mechanism.

76147 Vulture's Trucker Robbery

In the minifig department, we also recycle many elements: The torso of the driver of the truck who has the features of Tina Goldstein is that of the guardian of the Arkham asylum in the set 76138 Batman and The Joker Escape (2019). Spider-Man minifig is the one seen in the sets 76133 Spider-Man Car Chase (2019) 76134 Doc Ock Diamond Heist (2019) 76146 Spider-Man Mech (2020) et 76149 The Menace of Mysterio (2020)

The torso of the vulture is the one delivered in 2019 in the set 76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler and the character's face also appeared in the sets 76059 Doc Ock's Tentacle Trap (2016) et 76083 Beware The Vulture (2017). Only the wings also used for the character of Falcon, here delivered in L, are really new and for the moment exclusive to this set.

In short, this box is not enough to wake up a seasoned collector but it does offer something to have fun for one or more young fans of the Spider-Man universe. This is the whole point of these sets stamped 4+. The public price of this box is set at 29.99 € and it is as usual a little excessive. We will wait a few months for the price to drop at Amazon to have fun.

Note: The set presented here, supplied by LEGO, is as usual in play. Deadline fixed at April 21th next at 23pm. No emergency for the draws, the shipments will only take place when the sanitary situation allows it.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
