75931 Dilophosaurus Outpost Attack

The LEGO range Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom consists of a whole series of boxes of more or less obvious interest and whose public prices in principle allow all fans to participate in the party whatever their budget.

Billed 49.99 €, the set 75931 Dilophosaurus Outpost Attack (289 pieces) is positioned in the middle of the range even if its content does not in my opinion justify such a price.

I can't help but think that every time LEGO saves at least one vehicle in a box of this type intended for the youngest, the latter does not deserve to be sold at such a prohibitive price. . And in this set, there is no vehicle, not even a simple quad which would have brought a little consistency to the whole.

75931 Dilophosaurus Outpost Attack

The "playable" structure of the set comes down to a piece of enclosure with a sketchy gate, a minimalist fence and a gatehouse that does not even deserve this name. LEGO calls it all a "outpost"in the official description. A little pretentious.

The manufacturer also promises us "explosion functions of doors and walls". We calm down. We push on a button, the gate is released. We push on another button, the front of the monitoring station falls. That's all.

The small crane placed on the fence will not help much. We are in 2018, it takes a little more to tickle the imagination of the fans. LEGO doesn't even make the effort to give it a use in the official description, just stating that the guy sitting upstairs will "get off the crane".

75931 Dilophosaurus Outpost Attack

The collector will obviously look to the characters and dinosaurs provided. The three minifigs are just two guards and a tracker, certainly well equipped, but whose outfit is identical. The female guard didn't even have the honors of a proper torso. It's mean. These generic outfits can eventually be used to create some agents of SHIELD ...

For those who are wondering, the guard on the left below is wearing the hairstyle of Mister T. seen in the LEGO Dimensions Fun Pack 71251. The same element is also available in red in two Ninjago sets: 70640 SOG Headquarters et 70643 Temple of Resurrection.

On the dinosaur side, the Dipholosaurus is obviously exclusive to this set, just to motivate collectors. The pad printing of the figurine is successful, we once again avoid the side too cartoon.

The baby green dino is also included in the set 75933 T. Rex Transport.

75931 Dilophosaurus Outpost Attack

In the end, I say no. This set is way too expensive for what it offers. The reference 75928 Blue's Helicopter Pursuit, sold at the same price, seems to me more appropriate for a young fan eager to reproduce the action scenes of the film. We will talk about this in a few days.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

Without transition, we continue today with THE big box of the LEGO range Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom : the and 75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate with its 1019 pieces, its 6 minifigs, the Indoraptor, a Velociraptor (Blue), a baby dinosaur and its retail price of € 139.99.

We know that LEGO constantly seeks to optimize the content / price / profitability ratio of its products and there, it really begins to be seen ... Despite a rather attractive visual at first glance, this set to the glory of the Indoraptor n in the end, an imposing, almost empty shell that is more reminiscent of a movie set than the building seen in the film trailer.

I will spare you the description of the micro-spaces presented as elements of playability with "... 3 story building, with configurable walls, museum, laboratory, office, bedroom, removable windows, roof collapse function and a large buildable triceratops skull ..."

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

As usual, LEGO makes a lot of promises that rely exclusively on the imagination of the youngest ("... Place baby Velociraptor in the lab and perform DNA tests.. "). In some cases, replicating the adventures of our favorite heroes no doubt makes sense. But that's not always enough. What kid will spend hours at"perform DNA tests"Or hide Maisie under the bed in the micro-bedroom after getting her parents to spend $ 140 on it?

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

It is not a building, moreover, whatever LEGO may say. It is a facade. The various spaces pompously described in the official pitch of the set are often too cramped to hope to play with and function "roof collapse"comes down to a lever that must be pulled to tilt the mini-canopy.
Even the youngest will probably not find what they are looking for. A truck or a helicopter will undoubtedly offer more possibilities. On the building experience side, don't expect the techniques present in a set Structure of the LEGO Expert range, this is not the principle developed here.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

Wanting to do too much, LEGO still sells us a dollhouse whose only interest lies in the pseudo-modularity of the walls. Certain elements can indeed be presented in a configuration different from that proposed by default to try to give a little depth to the whole. The idea is interesting.
The problem: LEGO does not provide a baseplate in this box and it becomes difficult to move the set without breaking everything. A base plate would also have made it possible to define more precisely the interior of the building and to plug in the various characters and their accessories to store everything on a shelf.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

The museum promised in the description comes down to a hall flanked by two large stickers and a buildable Triceratops skull. The latter is also rather successful. By the way, there are only five stickers in this set: the two brick facades, the two museum posters and the computer screen on the first floor. Nice effort.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

The facade of the Lockwood Residence also has its flaws. The two brick inserts are actually two huge stickers. A shortcut that smacks of economy. The two side structures are empty and the interior arches intended to create an artificial depth are really reminiscent of a cardboard movie set.
LEGO has planned that fans might take it upon themselves to flesh this out by placing connection points for Technic pins in different places, but I'm not sure there are many customers who will invest in two or three boxes.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

The endowment in minifigs of this set is correct with on one side Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) and the little Maisie Lockwood (the one hiding under the bed).
If you want an Owen Grady minifigure in this outfit without breaking the bank, the same version comes in three cheaper sets in the range: 10757 Raptor Rescue Truck (€ 29.99), 75926 Pteranodon Chase (24.99 €) and 75928 Blue's Helicopter Pursuit (49.99 €).

Claire Dearing is also delivered in the same outfit in the sets 10758 T. rex Breakout (29.99 €) and 75929 Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape (89.99 €).

To accompany our hero duo and Benjamin Lockwood's granddaughter, LEGO provides us with Eli Mills, Gunnar Eversol and Ken Weathley. Not much to say about these three minifigs without pad printing on the legs before seeing the film. We know that Eli Mills (Rafe Spall) is present in many scenes of the film. Ken Weathley, here armed with a hypodermic rifle, also comes in the set 75928 Blue's Helicopter Pursuit (49.99 €).

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

Finally, and because it is especially for the dinosaurs that many will buy these boxes, this set allows to obtain the Indoraptor, Blue the friend of Owen also delivered in the set 75928 Blue's Helicopter Pursuit (49.99 €) and a baby dinosaur (the one you can experiment with in the lab on the first floor).
The pad printing of the Indoraptor is not perfect, I note on my copy a difference in color and a shift in the green band printed on the ABS plastic body and the flexible plastic tail. Too bad, especially at 140 € the dino.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

In summary, this set is in my opinion way overpriced for what it has to offer. It's an expensive spin-off that gives a few nods to the action in the movie without really turning the scene in question into a real toy. We find ourselves once again with a compromise which is not in my opinion satisfactory: behind the pretty facade presented on the box, there is not much really consistent.
The youngest can have a little fun destroying the building with the Indoraptor provided (all windows are removable) but I still think that the play potential of this set is much lower than that of other boxes in the range, however. much cheaper.

75932 Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase

LEGO having sent me all sets System de Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom range and the set which makes the link with the 1993 film, you will be entitled to a series of tests which will allow me to share with you some impressions, taking into account that the film has not yet been released and that it It is therefore difficult to judge the relevance of the content of these different boxes.

Were you expecting a big 3000 piece playset with 30 minifigs as a tribute to Jurassic Park? With a Jeep? The gate to the park entrance? It missed. But LEGO does not forget the fans of the first film of the franchise released in 1993 and still offers a small box that brings together some cult places and scenes.

LEGO 75932 Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase

The and 75932 Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase (49.99 €) is based on a film already released, the problem of the consistency of the content of this derivative product compared to the content to which it refers does not therefore arise.
It's more of a somewhat messy and awkward digest of what many of us have certainly remembered for 25 years than a real playset, but we have to deal with it.
There aren't all the characters in this little box either that we would have liked to get, but it is after all just a nod for nostalgic fans and not an exhaustive inventory.

The proposed construction does not offer any particular challenge here and is content to vaguely represent different spaces seen in the film Jurassic Park. The control room door can be blocked by the integrated mechanism and the bay window stamped with the park logo is removable.
That's it for the features. Ah, I forgot, you can hide Lex in the kitchen cupboard ... We won't play long with this set, the scene deserves more to be displayed on a corner of the shelf than anything else.

75932 Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase

That being said, this little tote playset wraps around a few scenes and locations we all remember: The Jelly Spoon shaking in Lex Murphy's hands chasing between the two kids and the two Velociprators in the kitchen. , the sequence in the control room in which Lex reboots the system while Grant and Ellie fight the Velociraptor trying to break down the door or the theft of embryos in the storage space.

LEGO 75932 Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase

LEGO has even added a bomb of Barbasol shaving foam, too bad it is not pad printed with the logo of the brand while this discreet container used by Dennis Nedry to steal embryos has been the object over the years of many derivative products.

75932 Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase

Here we have to be content with four minifigs: Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and the two grandchildren of John Hammond, Timothy and Alexis Murphy. No Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight), although the character appears on one of the screens in the control room (You didn't say the magic word ...), no John Hammond even if Richard Attenborough who died in 2014 would have really deserved to have a minifigure in his likeness, no Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) ...

Double face for everyone except Alan Grant who inherits a hat that would have left the alternative face visible on the back of the minifigure. For form, LEGO provides some hair if you fancy ridding the character of his iconic hat.

I note that Tim and Lex are actually not here in the outfits seen in the kitchen scene or in the kitchen scene. reboot of the system. We will do with it.

lego 75932 velociraptor chase minifigs front 2

lego 75932 velociraptor chase minifigs back 2

It is also minimum service on the side of the Velociraptors, two copies would have been welcome to materialize the terrifying scene for my childish eyes during which Tim and Lex play hide and seek in the kitchen for long minutes with the two dinosaurs.

Everyone will also have an opinion on what LEGO could have offered to expand this set, some will regret the absence of the cold room adjoining the kitchen, others the lack of important characters, etc ... endless debate.

As far as I'm concerned, it's really the absence of Dennis Nedry that bothers me the most here, while several elements directly related to the character are present in the set. I have many memories of the different scenes with this somewhat wacky character with a tragic fate.

But you can't have it all, and so I'm happy to be content with this somewhat minimalist set that interests me more for the different winks it offers than for the contents of the box. We had to make choices, LEGO made them for us, we will have to live with them.

14/04/2018 - 11:55 In my opinion... Reviews

76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up

The other Hulkbuster of the moment is the one of the set 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-up (375 pieces - 34.99 €) accompanied by four minifigs and a barrel which allow, as indicated by the official description of the set of "... recreate the thrilling scenes inspired by the Marvel superhero movie Avengers: Infinity War ..."We take LEGO at their word, the film from which this set is" inspired "has not yet been released in theaters.

Even if the comparison is irrelevant, difficult to assemble this mini-Hulkbuster right after the version of the set 76105 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition without sketching a smile. the 76104 set is a playset for young LEGO fans and the main objective here is obviously to offer a minimum of playability at an attractive price.

76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up

The balance of power is rather balanced in this box, with on one side Bruce Banner who in principle "... exterminate Proxima Midnight and the Outrider ..."using the Hulkbuster and Falcon who give him a hand with his"removable Redwing drone"and on the other Proxima Midnight assisted by an Outrider who knock the Hulkbuster out with large shots of balls fired from the barrel inside which the Infinity Gem is hidden.

Two against two, it's playable right out of the box, that's a good point. The set is self-sufficient.

Too bad for collectors, Bruce Banner is not new: the minifigure is identical to the one seen in the set 76084 The Ultimate Battle for Asgard released in 2017 to accompany the film Thor: Ragnarok.
Sam "Falcon" Wilson is an exclusive revenge to this set, with a nice pad printing on the chest. I'm not a fan of parts-based wings, I find them disproportionate and too fragile to be convincing, not to mention the four stickers to stick on the parts ...
The young fan will be able to detach the huge drone fixed in the back of Falcon, it is always that price for the playability. You will have to dig into your inventory to equip Falcon with its two usual submachine guns, LEGO does not provide any here. Petty.

Avengers: Inifnity War

The Falcon version of the set 76050 Crossbones Hazard Heist marketed in 2016 around the film Captain America: Civil War remains my favorite even if the pad printing of the torso of this new version of the character is more accomplished.

76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up

Proxima Midnight and the generic Outrider provided are of little interest to me. These minifigs certainly have the merit of existing but they might as well come out of another range that features wicked aliens.
As for Banner and Falcon, you have to be content with plain and neutral legs for these two characters which spoils the overall appearance of the minifigs a bit. I might change my mind after seeing the film, although we can already regret that the left arm of Proxima Midnight does not have a shoulder pad and a pad printing detailing the different layers of the golden armor.

76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up

The spear of the character would have deserved to be worked a little more. On the different visuals available, it has three branches on one side.

The cannon provided seems to me to be well in the spirit of the very organically rendered weapons and ships made in Wakanda, but it's more of an alibi for the gameplay than anything else. The turret is not rotating, it is necessary to press the two parts of the barrel to eject the ball. It's ... minimalist. He still offers enough to knock down the Hulkbuster, we do not ask him more.
As it stands, one wonders what the Infinity Gem is doing in the barrel body, the film will (or not) provide the answer. LEGO having distributed the different gems over all the sets in the range, it was probably necessary to find a place for it.

You can lose three of them before you start to worry, LEGO provides replacement copies.

Avengers: Inifnity War

The Hulkbuster does the job: it's consistent, strong, easy to handle, and Bruce Banner easily fits into the armor. Too bad for the growth in the back which allows the right arm of the figurine to move vaguely.
It is unsightly and the size / function offered is not good. By removing a part, we can block the arm in a fixed position, but the protuberance is still there. It is also paradoxical, here LEGO offers the possibility of reducing (a little) the playability of the product ...

From the visuals, you will understand that the torso of the figurine must remain in the axis of the legs, there is no rotation mechanism at the waist.
If the front of the Hulkbuster is rather detailed for a figure of this scale, the back is a little more sketchy. This is undoubtedly the price to pay to stay in the nails in terms of parts and public price.

76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up

Those who missed the set 76031 The Hulkbuster Smash marketed in 2015 and since become overpriced on the secondary market may stop having regrets.
This new version of the armor is significantly more detailed and more consistent than the 2015 model. It looks less like the Buildable Figures made from Bionicle / Hero Factory parts that LEGO sold us in 2012.

76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up

In the end, it is probably not the set of the year, but the Hulkbuster has been Avengers: Age of Ultron became the king of derivatives.
You must have one in your collection and this will do the trick for anyone who has chosen to skip the large format version of the set. 76015 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition.

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

Many of us have long hoped that LEGO will someday release a more detailed version of the Hulkbuster than the one seen in the sets. 76031 The Hulkbuster Smash (2015) et 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up (2018)
Our wishes were granted a few weeks ago with the sale of the set 76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition (1363 pieces - 139.99 €), even if the latter is not the ultimate figure so much hoped for by some fans.

We can always discuss the somewhat high public price of this box or the approximate finish of the figurine, the fact remains that I consider this Hulkbuster as a very nice exhibition product, sufficiently detailed and well highlighted. by the presentation platform provided.

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

Let’s immediately settle the question of the “exclusive” minifig delivered in this box: It is mainly an armor, the MK43 version, supplied with a transparent polycarbonate head. This is only a more detailed graphic reinterpretation of the armor seen in the set. 76031 The Hulkbuster Smash (2015)

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

Another detail to highlight, the presence of many stickers in this box, 20 in total, a large part of which are printed on a transparent support. It's a stopgap, knowing that when LEGO generally prints its stickers on a color background matching the support intended to receive them and it is common to see differences in color.

This problem does not arise here, but the transparent background of these stickers does not offer a rendering worthy of a collector's product at 140 €. The big sticker that gives a side Ultimate Collector Series to the product is a bit ridiculous for its part, it just tells us that the armor is super special, super resistant and super strong ... Some technical specifications, even invented would have been welcome.

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

Once assembled, the figure is quite solid and can be handled without risking scattering coins everywhere. The level of detail is very correct, even if the general appearance is a bit spoiled by the presence of the two blue pins at the shoulders. LEGO seems to insist with these blue pieces visible on models where they have no place (see the test of the LEGO Technic set 42078 Mach Anthem) and I think it's an assumed choice. There is no other valid reason to continue incorporating these visually unsightly pieces, except to purposely remind that this is a LEGO product.

LEGO obviously privileged here the situation of the armor in relation to its mobility. You can orient the arms however you like, but the legs remain hopelessly stiff. LEGO provides an additional standard arm which can replace the Jackhammer loosely articulated via a somewhat unsightly elastic. An integrated spring system would have been more judicious, this white elastic cheap.

No joints in the knees, as is too often the case with guys and other LEGO robots, you just have to spread your legs, turn the torso and orient the feet of the minifigure to make him take different poses. For lack of anything better, you can pay tribute to Jean-Claude Van Damme:

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

It's paradoxical, but I remind you that the poster offered by LEGO for the purchase of this set when it goes on sale presents the Hulkbuster with one knee on the ground, pose impossible to reproduce with the plastic version of the armor ...

I obviously regret the lack of knee joints, but not for reasons related to playability, this product being above all a figurine to exhibit. I just wish I could stage this Hulkbuster with one knee on the ground.

The above pose also reveals one of the weaknesses of the product: The articulation points are a bit too rickety and lacking in dressing, which contrasts with the massive appearance of the armor. It is even more obvious at the ankles of the figurine. It's up to you to find the right exposure angle to hide these visual defects.

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

The MK43 armor can be installed (seated) in the cockpit of the Hulkbuster, just to put it somewhere and be sure not to lose it. The light brick integrated in the torso can only be briefly switched on by pressing on the back of the armor.
Impossible to leave it on, which makes the functionality a little anecdotal, especially since LEGO has taken the trouble to integrate some phosphorescent pieces in this set. As usual with LEGO, you know it's there, it'll do.

The back of the figurine is successful with many details, the designer has not botched this aspect of the set. Well oriented, the figure is as convincing from the back as from the front.

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

To stage this Hulkbuster, LEGO provides a support which has the merit of being very well designed. the platform offers enough space to display the armor without taking up half of the living room dresser. The various accessories (table, robotic arms) which are connected to this support can also be moved according to your wishes.

The figure is very stable and well balanced, even when tilted forward or back. It does not slip thanks to the tire integrated in each foot, it is well seen. The model of Veronica, the microphone hot rod and the big fire extinguisher add to the staging a bit.

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

Don't get too fussy on the set scale, there isn't much that makes sense. It is enough to put the extinguisher in the hand of the minifigure to realize it. You can actually vaguely consider everything to be Hulkbuster scale rather than Tony Stark and that the MK43 armor is actually microfig scale ...

76105 The Hulkbuster Ultron Edition

So that everyone understands why this large format Hulkbuster is in my opinion an aesthetic success despite its few flaws, it suffices to compare it with the armor delivered in the set 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up released this year. The latter also offers very limited mobility.

We can always blame the figurine set 76105 for not being completely faithful to the armor seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the result is in any case light years away from the compact version whose general appearance is far from convincing.

This large format Hulkbuster is a pure exhibition product for collectors, it is not intended to end up in the little one's toy box and it does the job. I say yes, even at € 139.99.
