10/10/2013 - 21:05 LEGO Star Wars

A Star Wars break vintage with a simple MOC to pay tribute to the late Ralph McQuarrie, a genius illustrator at the origin of the universe developed in the Original Star Wars Trilogy.

Omar Ovalle presents here the original illustration and its LEGO version of Cloud City alias Cloud city, the mining station located 60.000 km from the planet Bespin.

If you take the time to go for a walk on his flickr gallery, you will discover another view of this MOC and above all you will be able to see how the photo was taken with an image from the photo studio used for the occasion.

I love discovering how MOCeurs manage to stage their creations and I am always very curious about the technical context of a successful shoot.

Star Wars Bounty Hunters in Bust Format by Omar Ovalle

You will tell me that I should stop insisting with Cuusoo, it rarely comes out good. But as a logical continuation of the project he has been developing for several months, Omar Ovalle has just uploaded his Bounty Hunters busts.

He had already attempted the Cuusoo adventure a few months ago before withdrawing his creations, as many MOCeurs did at the time, faced with the lack of organization of the collaborative project initiated by LEGO and the hostage organized by certain groups of fans to highlight projects of no real interest with great buzz.

Reaching 10.000 supporters will not be easy, we all know that. And even if this fateful threshold is reached, there is nothing to say that LEGO will consider the idea.

But supporting this project above all makes it possible to signal to LEGO and to show that a little variety within the LEGO Star Wars range would be welcome with something other than the usual ships and their remakes.

You do as you want, I vote for ...

14/03/2013 - 11:40 MOCs

It would seem thatOmar Ovalle embarks on a new series of MOCs featuring busts of characters from the Star Wars universe.

We start with Embo, the bounty hunter of the Sugi gang seen in the animated series The Clone Wars.

It's rather sober and this kind of realization will undoubtedly not be unanimous here or elsewhere, but I like this relatively uncluttered side without overbearing details. The crossbow alone is worth a look.

AT-OT Walker, Ki-Adi-Mundi & Galactic Marines by Omar Ovalle

To start 2013 off well, Omar Ovalle is blessing us with a superb creation that expands his series of alternative LEGO sets "Here I go set 3".

As usual, the presentation is impeccable. The visual of the virtual box would make you crack even an open AFOL.

The AT-OT Walker, a modified version of the machine from set 10195, is here accompanied by a squad of Galactic Marines led by Ki-Adi-Mundi which is the result of collaborative work between different sizes in the field of custom.

Jared "Fine Clonier"Burks created and supplied the decals, all fabric pieces were created by MMCBcapes.com.au, Commander Bacara's helmet comes from area light, and Xero Fett took care of assembling these minifigs (Painting, decals).

T-16 Skyhopper by Omar Ovalle

The T-16 Skyhopper is not what we call a charismatic craft. The designers of the thing at Incom had to have scores to settle with their boss to come up with something so unlikely.

On all the encyclopedic sites dedicated to Star Wars you will be told that Luke adored this very powerful machine, of which he had a copy on Tatooine and on which he learned to fly with Biggs Darklighter.

LEGO did not really force on the reproductions of this speeder with a single set of 98 pieces released in 2003: The 4477 T-16 Skyhopper. On the side of the MOCeurs it is not crazy either. You will find on this blog two achievements: The version of RenegadeLight et that of BrickDoctor.

Back to business after a short break, Omar Ovalle takes over his 3rd series of alternative sets with an interpretation all in sobriety and format System of this famous T-16 Skyhopper.
