LEGO today unveils the set 10277 Crocodile Locomotive, another product stamped 18+ which allows to assemble a locomotive type "Crocodile" in its original brown livery. You will have to pay 99.99 € / 129.00 CHF to afford this box, which will be available from July 1, 2020 on the official online store and in the LEGO Stores.
These electric locomotives which circulated in Switzerland until the 80s are articulated machines with two separate frames equipped with two motors and three axles. The central module houses the single-phase current collection system, transformers and the operator's station.
The set which takes its nickname from the undulation of the three independent modules on the mountain railways and the green color of the models produced a few years after the commissioning of the first version is today part of the cultural heritage. Swiss. LEGO offers a reproduction of the Ce 6/8 II 14253 version launched in 1919 which was intended to transport goods on the Gotthard line.
This locomotive was also awarded by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME): The machine received the prestigious distinction "Technical Landmark"which rewards the most significant innovations in the field of mechanical engineering.
In the box, 1271 pieces to reproduce the machine and simply put it on its display to display it on the chest of drawers in the living room (52 cm long) or motorize it via the integration of elements Powered Up not supplied: one Smart Hub (88009 - €49.99) and Technic L engine (88013 - 34.99 €), the latter having been available for retail sale for a few days.
The set will benefit from a dedicated control interface via the update of the application Powered Up present on iOS and Android, with a control panel that reproduces the cockpit of the real locomotive.
Two minifigs that reuse the motif already seen on Alan Grant's torso in two sets from the LEGO Jurassic World range and a small plaque containing some information about the locomotive complete the inventory. Too bad the necks of minifigs are flesh-colored with a yellow head ...
