LEGO Batman: The Movie DC Super Heroes Unite

Here is the trailer for this animated feature film which will be released in early 2013, undoubtedly directly on Blu-ray / DVD (and probably accompanied by an exclusive minifigure, I'm betting on Gordon ...). The trailer does not even speak of a TV or cinema broadcast and it smells warm from the trailer: We find the same images as in the video game launch videos from which this film is obviously taken which are themselves the cutscenes Game...

After Star Wars, Hero Factory, Ninjago or Friends, LEGO occupies the field and sets out to conquer new customers with great reinforcements of cartoons transforming its bricks and minifigs into derivative products and reversing the marketing process. The cartoons are no longer offshoots of the different ranges involved, but are becoming a medium for approaching potential new fans who will want to get the plastic versions of their heroes seen on TV or on Blu-ray, as is the case for many other brands.

We who are already convinced fans, we are not the main recipients of these animated versions of our favorite ranges. It is indeed all those who have not yet taken the plunge towards LEGO products who are the target of these giant advertisements. They increase the playability potential of LEGO sets by showing that beyond the construction toy, LEGO also offers universes with which it is possible to interact and have fun other than by interlocking bricks. It's a global trend: LEGO doesn't necessarily mean create or build anymore. The proposed playsets are certainly intended to be assembled, but no longer really encourage creativity. The universe is pre-chewed, and ready to play.
