LEGO Braille Bricks

After a test phase, the program LEGO Braille Bricks has now been extended to around twenty countries with the provision to associations and selected specialized schools of kits of 300 pieces specially designed to reproduce the 63 combinations of Braille writing, with all the letters of the alphabet, punctuation and mathematical and scientific signs.

The kit, which also includes three base plates and a brick divider in addition to the assortment of molded and pad printed 2x4 bricks, comes with a dedicated website which offers a whole ecosystem of activities for the initiation and discovery of Braille writing with a pre-learning phase and many playful micro-activities.

For France, it is the association VOIR (Abracadabraille.org) which is the official partner of the operation and which will ensure the distribution of the kits to the institutions or schools which request them. These kits will be distributed free of charge.

Unfortunately the association's website in question, which should especially eventually become the localized version of the concept developed by LEGO with all the activities imagined around this product, is not ready for launch and it is still under construction ...

Un facebook group is also available to teachers and facilitators who can share their experiences.

The list of referent organizations in each of the countries concerned can be found at this address.
