lego 2014 results

LEGO is world number 1 in the toy sector, is making very big profits and will continue to invest in order to develop. This is essentially what should be remembered from the publication of the group's 2014 results.

Rather than showering yourself here with the billions of Danish Krone (DKK) that LEGO claims to have won in 2014, just stick to a number: 24.6%. This is the net margin (or the percentage of net profit to turnover) achieved by LEGO in 2014 and it is up 15% compared to 2013.

For the rest, we note an increase of 13% in turnover compared to 2013, an increase in net profit of 15%, an increase of 18% of the sums invested (purchase of land, plant locations, equipment) , a recycling rate of waste generated on production sites of 90% and a total number of employees which rose from 13.869 at the end of 2013 to 14.762 at the end of 2014.

LEGO records double-digit sales growth in the US, UK, France, Russia and China. The increase is less important in Central and Eastern Europe.

The LEGO Movie line is touted as one of the sales boosters for the brand alongside the City, Star Wars, Friends, Creator and Technic lines.

If you want to have fun with the numbers, the full 2014 annual report can be found at this address.
However, be careful not to let yourself be influenced by the many tables presented: Do not confuse, for example, gross margin, operating margin and net margin ...
