LEGO Fanwelt 2012: The LEGO representative goes wild

This is an incident the community could have done without.

The convention Fanworld 2012 which took place from 22 to 25 November 2012 in Cologne was the scene of a show which a priori does not honor either the main actor or the manufacturer: Jan Beyer, . of the brand, which moves with the events, has gone a little crazy and for a very simple reason: The presence of a tank MOC on one of the stands at the show. An MOC which reproduced a fictitious device and not an existing or previously existing military device.

At least that's what the exhibitor in question relates on his flickr gallery where he explains that Jan Beyer asked him to immediately remove his machine from the table on which it was presented.

However, the MOCeur had obtained the approval of those in charge of the organization of the convention and no remark had been formulated about the "military" aspect of this tank (obviously ...).

Without disassembling himself, Andreas, the MOCeur in question, asked Jan Beyer to produce the document that would possibly mention the ban on exhibiting this type of device at the show. And there the . He seems to have "gone wild", getting angry with MOCeur and his friends and threatening to ban it by convention in the future.

In his account of this incident, Andreas also mentions, without making any connection or accusing anyone, that a Leopard II tank MOC intended to be presented to the public disappeared the night before the opening of the demonstration to the public.

What to think of this event? Did Jan Beyer show overzealousness in trying to enforce LEGO's policy on military devices? Was he within his rights by asking MOCeur not to present this type of device to the public and in particular to the children present? What to think of the manufacturer's variable geometry morality, represented here by one of its employees, with its many ranges involving violence (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Agents, Batman, etc ...?
