Remember, in september 2018, LEGO launched the LEGO FORMA concept via the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. This product made it possible to assemble a plastic carp and then make it undulate by turning the crank placed on the base of the construction. The crowdfunding campaign was then geographically limited to the USA and the UK.
The and LEGO FORMA 81000 Koi (293 pieces - £ 42.99 - 50 €) is now for sale on the official LEGO store but only in the UK and, contrary to what is said here and there, there will be no extension of this marketing to other countries. It's destocking, LEGO having decided to definitely throw in the towel on this project.
If you want a copy of this box, you should now be able to treat yourself on Ebay ou on Bricklink at prices a little less hallucinating than those charged so far by the "investors" who had participated in the initial campaign.
The extensions proposed during the crowdfunding campaign and which allow to dress the structure based on Technic elements to obtain two variants of carp and even a shark (81002 Splash Koï, 81003 Ink Koï and 81001 Shark Skin) are not, however. not for sale directly from LEGO, so they are always sold for gold in the secondary market.
