LEGO is communicating today on the expected novelties in the Harry Potter range with the announcement of eight boxes including a series of sets that pay tribute to the first products marketed 20 years ago, in 2001.
Those who hoped for a new extension of the very large Hogwarts playset marketed in installments since 2018 are at their expense, LEGO "reboot" this year the school with green roofs on the occasion of the 20 years of the Harry Potter range. Fortunately, the manufacturer only keeps the color of the roofs and the rest is at the level of what we can expect in 2021 from a range like this. Many products marketed in this range in the early 2000s have aged really badly and there is no regrets in my opinion, the tribute will do.
We know since yesterday that it will be possible to combine three of the new boxes announced thanks to the modularity imagined by LEGO to obtain a version of Hogwarts that will fit on a shelf and easily find its place in your collections. Each set is obviously sufficient in itself by the subject it deals with or the scene it represents, but the most assiduous fans should not hesitate for a long time before investing in all the modules allowing to obtain the full school.
There is no indication at this stage that the other version of Hogwarts launched in 2018 and completed each year by new extensions is definitely abandoned as is, this year is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the range and it is possible that the initial concept will return in 2022.
Big novelty this year: the marketing of two 26.5 cm high maxifigs to assemble which seem rather interesting to me with Harry Potter on one side and Hermione Granger on the other. The format opens the door to other creations of the same type in many ranges, I'm waiting to see what LEGO has in store for us. The two maxifigs seem to me rather successful, except perhaps at the level of the chin of the two characters which lacks a little relief.
Another novelty is the arrival in the range of a chess set which reproduces the scene from the first film (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone / Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone). The 27 x 27 cm board is occupied by pieces to build and I would have preferred minifigs.
For the rest, LEGO expands the radius of the flying creatures whose wings are set in motion via a crank with the set 76394 Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix which takes up the principle and presentation of the set 75979 Hedwig. Another beautiful collector's item for fans who are sure to line up the birds on their shelves.
It should also be noted that several of these boxes will make it possible to obtain chocolate frogs cards (Chocolate Frog Card) random to collect and it will probably be necessary to consider exchanges of these Tiles 2x2 pad printed with other fans to get a complete collection of 16 cards.
Four of these boxes will be exclusive to the official online store and the LEGO Stores: 76392 Hogwarts Wizard's Chess, 76393 Harry Potter & Hermione Granger, 76394 Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix et 76395 Hogwarts: First Flying Lesson. Availability announced for June 1st, some will be available for pre-order from today.
In the USA, the Target brand will have the exclusivity of sets 76392, 76393 and 76394, while the Kohl brand will have the exclusivity of set 76395. We do not yet know how these possible exclusives will be distributed in Europe and France .
The six exclusive golden minifigs produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the range are distributed in the boxes below (*). I think there will be a few more in future sets that are not officially revealed today, Dumbledore would certainly have been provided in a version. Gold in the set 76394 Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix if it wasn't ...

Amazon UK and Amazon Spain have briefly put online two of the novelties expected this year in the LEGO Harry Potter range with visuals and descriptions, two sets of which some preliminary images had been leaked a few weeks ago on the usual channels:
|
We discover in passing that it will be possible to combine three of the boxes that will be marketed soon to obtain a modular version of Hogwarts which directly pays tribute to the range launched in 2001.
Each of the sets will allow you to obtain one of the six golden minifigs produced to mark the 20th anniversary of the range, these two boxes will include Ron Weasley and Lord Voldemort. Also on the menu, Chocogrenouilles cards to collect in the form of pad-printed Tiles.
Designed to wow your guests, the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets (76389) building set is a Harry Potter game featuring the 2 most famous rooms of Hogwarts! In the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter can fight like Tom Riddle and the Giant Basilisk, just like in the movie!
|
Appreciated by construction fans and the fantasy saga, this LEGO Harry Potter Hogsmeade Village Tour (76388) construction set is sure to keep you entertained. Kids can have hours of fun with this Harry Potter toy when built and displayed.

Anything that can help make a LEGO product even more interesting is worth taking and LEGO has posted an "alternative" set of instructions for the LEGO ART set online. 31202 Disney's Mickey Mouse (2658 - 119.99 €). On the program, enough to assemble two new mosaics which feature Mickey and Minnie in a configuration different from that provided by default by the manufacturer.
You can download the instruction file in PDF format which will allow you to assemble any of the above visuals at this address. These variants can be considered as "official" versions, they were imagined by Kitt Grace Kossmann, designer at LEGO who is at the origin of several of the products marketed in the LEGO ART range.
For those who would have missed it, LEGO offers the same for the set 31201 Harry Potter Hogwarts Crests (4249 - 119.99 €) with an instruction file in PDF format which allows you to assemble three alternative mosaics to those provided by default with Hedwig, a Snitch or the King's Cross lane number. The file is available for download at this address.
If you have the courage to dismantle the mosaic or mosaics that you have already assembled, then you have something to occupy yourself for a few hours. In the worst case, grab the instruction files and store them somewhere until you have the will to jump into a teardown / reassembly operation, it's unclear how long LEGO will keep them online.
20 years is worth celebrating and LEGO intends to celebrate as it should be the anniversary of the Harry Potter range with six golden minifigs that will be divided into six of the sets planned for this year.
To put together this small collection of minifigs with their matching stand and wand including Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Severus Snape (Severus Snape) and Professor Quirinus Quirrell, you will need to invest in half a dozen boxes. for which we do not yet know the content or the public price. The graphic staging of each of the minifigs must in principle be a clue to the stage or the place that will be represented in the set concerned. Either way, summer promises to be expensive.
We never tire of it or so little: After a brief reappearance followed by an almost immediate disappearance, The promotional set 30628 The Monster Book of Monsters is automatically added to the basket again upon purchase of products from the LEGO Harry Potter range on the official online store.
If you already have the entire Harry Potter range on your shelves, including the new sets 76382 Hogwarts Moment: Transfiguration Class, 76383 Hogwarts Moment: Potions Class, 76384 Hogwarts Moment: Herbology Class et 76385 Hogwarts Moment: Charms Class, you can possibly crack on one or more copies of the set LEGO ART 31201 Hogwarts Crest (119.99 €), the promotional offer in progress at the time of this writing also works on this product.
One clarification: it is not necessary to be identified on your VIP account to take advantage of the offer.
