For those interested, LEGO is today cracking a press release concerning the big concept that has been emerging since 2014 in the center of Billund, the Danish village that houses the manufacturer's facilities: The LEGO House.
In short, this new space with a total area of 12.000 m² and 23 meters high entirely dedicated to the LEGO brick and whose work is being completed will open its doors during the second half of 2017. the exact date of the opening of the premises to the public will be announced on February 16 at the occasion of the event Lego world copenhagen.
Six thematic areas will allow visitors to discover the whole "LEGO experience". Three restaurants and a LEGO Store will empty their wallets. the various terraces located on the roofs of the modules that make up all the installations will be accessible to the public.
Some of the facilities will be accessible free of charge, including the covered central square of 2000 m². Access to the thematic areas which form the "experience" in question will be chargeable.
LEGO expects / expects 250.000 annual visitors.
Some fun facts to amuse the gallery: 1900 tons of steel were used, the highest module takes the dimensions of a 2x4 brick to scale and the facades are covered with terracotta tiles to create the illusion of a construction made from LEGO bricks.
