After the few leaks which largely revealed the contents of the box, LEGO finally decides to officially announce the set. LEGO Ideas 21318 Treehouse based on the project by Kevin Feeser.

Kevin Feeser admits it himself, the prototype presented on the LEGO Ideas platform was extremely fragile and the initial project needed to be adapted to meet the brand's standards in terms of solidity and "experience" of construction.

LEGO is obviously taking advantage of the release of this box to highlight the 185 plant elements provided which are now made from ethanol from the distillation of sugar cane.

LEGO promises that this "green" polyethylene will be at least as durable, flexible and tough as the plastic currently in use. This biopolyethylene is not biodegradable but it is however recyclable via the same processes as conventional polyethylene. It should also be noted that the use of sugar cane does not change either the manufacturing process or the properties of the plastic obtained at the outlet.

Green lobbying aside, I regret that this set, which initially was the result of the vote of more than 10.000 supporters, almost exclusively serves the manufacturer's current marketing objectives: In its press release, LEGO only promotes its ambitions in terms of respect for the environment and forgets a little in passing to highlight all the qualities of this box which we will talk about in the coming hours on the occasion of a "Review ".
