This is a project that I told you about on the blog before and it deserves a new spotlight even if I don't give a lot of his skin in the next step: Scott Peterson was finally able to put together, after more than 2 years, 10.000 supporters around of his project Lightsaber Shafts at LEGO Ideas.
I am not, however, fooled by what the future risks of this idea that I have always found very original because it has the merit of leaving the usual triangle of proposals made by fans around the Star Wars license: Vaisseaux already seen and reviewed - improbable buildings or dioramas - oversized MOCs for wealthy AFOLs - which we have become accustomed to on Cuusoo now LEGO Ideas.
The concept is very simple, but you had to think about it and materialize it. Star Wars is full of lightsabers with aesthetically very successful sleeves and it is time for LEGO to follow in the footsteps of other manufacturers of derivative products and offer us a few sets paying homage to this iconic weapon, a link that links all existing and future Star Wars content.
We'll see what LEGO decides, or what excuse based on the new rules in force will be put forward to reject this idea, but I confess that I keep a very small ray of hope and I want to believe that a day I will be able to collect these creations ...
This project therefore joins three other ideas in the very closed circle of proposals that will participate in the next review phase: Assault on Wayne Manor, X-Men: X-Mansion et Invisible Hand.
