The subject of brickfilms is always thorny to tackle.
I have a very critical look at the subject and little indulgence towards the dozens of animated films or brickfilms, be they amateurs, featuring the inevitable Stormtroopers facing a mini army of droids with great reinforcements of lasers and uninteresting sound effects. The production is often too minimalist, the lighting non-existent, and the action uninteresting.
Moreover, by the way, I would like to point out that I support less and less seeing the Stormtroopers in photos of all kinds on flickr: With an apple, a banana, an iPhone, in the sun, in black and white, on the page , with Vader, etc, etc ... The lack of creativity is really felt ....
Coming back to the subject, the Brickfilm is a complicated exercise that takes a lot of patience to achieve something believable and enjoyable to watch.
Our Company paganomation is a past master in the art of producing these brickfilms and their latest series, The LEGO Red Brick Saga is rather well done. Episode # 4 of this 46-second mini-movie series produced for LEGO features Star Wars characters. (The three preceding epiosals are devoted to Pirates of the Caribbean (# 1) Harry Potter (# 2) and Alien conquest (# 3)).
But what interests me here is above all the flickr gallery de paganomation devoted to this episode and which reveals in images all the secrets of the filming of this brickfilm featuring a red brick that crosses different LEGO universes.
I'm not sure if I should advise you to watch first this flickr gallery and then only the result of the ingenuity and patience of these artists or vice versa. Special mention for the explosion of the Death Star.
Either way, it's the weekend, so take the opportunity to relax, vote for Hoth Bricks, and see what a real, well-crafted brickfilm must be and find out how it's made.
In the same vein and if you haven't seen it yet, run on THE cult brickfilm: Battle of Hoth I told you about in March 2011 on Hoth Bricks. 6 minutes of pure happiness .....
