I just received my copy of the book LEGO Star Wars: The Dark Side accompanied by the exclusive Palpatine minifigure, and after a quick glance at the content, a few pages caught my attention:
Above, a presentation of the duel scene ("I am your father", etc ...) between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker in Cloud City (Cloud city) and below a Senate Pod seen inside the Galactic Senate compound on Coruscant. I mention these two visuals, which are indeed photos of scenes based on "real" bricks because the book a priori only gathers official LEGO content if we are to believe the credits displayed on the last page.
These two scenes are therefore not MOCs (unless you find me these creations somewhere) used by the editor to illustrate the chapters concerned. However, it is difficult to conclude that these are two sets already in the LEGO boxes. However, since the end of August, we have been talking about a set initially planned for 2015 but whose marketing was finally canceled by LEGO which could, according to its title, integrate the Senate Pod, Palpatine and some Senate guards: 75088 Senate Commando Troopers ...
Regarding a possible remake of the 10123 Cloud City set released in 2003, more famous for Boba Fett's minifig with pad-printed legs than for the fidelity of the representation of the places, the visual above may suggest that LEGO has already re-worked on the subject. We will remember elsewhere of the free poster during the special Star Wars week last May, which gave pride of place to the famous duel between Luke and his father.
These extrapolations are obviously to be taken with a grain of salt, while waiting to learn more.
As for the book, the content (a hundred pages) is significantly more extensive than on the book of the same style devoted to the Chronicles of Yoda released in 2013, even if once again the texts quickly fly over their subject and are addressed to younger fans of the Star Wars universe.
The French version of this book (LEGO Star Wars: The Dark Side) is expected by the end of October.
