The issue of manufacturing quality had already been raised regarding the first sets in the LEGO Super Heroes range, whose production appears to be primarily handled by the manufacturer's new Mexican factory . ( Above, a visit by a local bigwig, Rodrigo Medina, to the factory in question.)
Besides the packaging errors I already mentioned in January , some purchasers of set 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase had noted the surprising fragility of the slopes of Batman's jetpack ( see this article ).
It is now the Marvel range's turn to suffer the same criticisms from American buyers regarding manufacturing quality: Some have noted that Iron Man's legs and helmet have strange cracks, Hawkeye and Bane are also said to be affected by these cracks in the plastic which are not due to intensive handling of the minifigs.
Another buyer notes that their alien minifigure from set 6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle has striations on its face, while another observes that Captain America's shield also has paint cracks. This same shield is also affected by printing misalignment.
We should add that a buyer has noticed major centering problems on the stickers of set 6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle , and even though these printing problems on stickers are commonplace with LEGO, it's starting to become a problem, and the list goes on... A thread dedicated to all these issues has also been opened on Eurobricks.
Some will argue that the LEGO service is excellent and that you just need to call to get a part exchange. Either, and so much the better, given the price of the sets in question ...
Despite everything, I therefore recommend that you examine your LEGO Super Heroes sets from all angles and do not hesitate to come to LEGO for a quick replacement of any parts that may be defective or damaged.
