76124 War Machine Buster

Today we quickly tour the LEGO Marvel set 76124 War Machine Buster (362 pieces - 34.99 €), a small box of less than 400 pieces that will bring back memories to all those who bought the set 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up (375 pieces - 34.99 €) marketed since 2018.

This new armor is indeed relatively similar to that of the set 76104 with a cockpit accessible from the front face by separating various mobile elements, a bell which closes on the face of the pilot, hands with mobile fingers and a few joints at the level of the limbs. which allow various and varied poses. This over-equipped War Machine Buster is by the way a little bigger than the Hulkbuster: 17 cm against 14 cm, it is the rotating cannon that makes the difference.

76124 War Machine Buster

For armor of this scale, it's pretty well done. This is not an exhibition mockup, so some details are bound to be a bit rough and some joints are a bit too exposed depending on the positions and viewing angles, but I find this War Machine Buster overall convincing.

LEGO is here in the bidding on weaponry. After all, War Machine is not known for being in the lace and we logically find here a whole slew of machine launchers placed on the shoulders of the armor and on the backs of the hands. The two trick launchers placed on the hands are the ones that can also equip the War Machine minifig.

The cockpit is spacious, James Rhodes' minifigure can be held in it without having to remove the character's helmet in the process. Small funny detail: the ammo reserve stacked on a gray plate can be placed inside the cockpit just behind the minifig. Attaching the head of the armor that only holds via two droid arms seems a bit shaky to me, but that's the price to pay to be able to orient it properly when it's in place on the pilot's face.

76124 War Machine Buster

Despite the profusion of elements present to dress the armor, the whole is relatively solid and easy to handle without risking scattering parts everywhere, except of course at the level of the rotating cannon placed on the right shoulder of the character who like 'habit tends to be triggered unexpectedly. The spray gun placed on the left shoulder is also very sensitive and the two missiles are ejected at the slightest contact, even accidental.

The back of the figurine is properly dressed. The finish is basic but in my opinion sufficient for a build on this scale and in this price range. It is also from the back that the figurines' joints are most visible.

76124 War Machine Buster

The multiple joints of the figurine allow, as I said above, some interesting and sufficient poses to expose the thing in a more or less dynamic posture. The dressing of the limbs sets the limits of movement of the armor, with pieces that lock together when the angles are too pronounced. It is an acceptable compromise between finish and mobility.

In the box, LEGO delivers four minifigs, but here we have to stick with the Quantum Suit already seen in quadruplicate in the set 76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet. War Machine has under its helmet with mobile visor a double face, one side with a very successful red HUD (or head-up display).

No miracle, the legs of the Quantum Suit are affected here by the same printing defect on the knees as the copies of the set 76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet.

76124 War Machine Buster

Ant-Man finally comes with a helmet faithful to the version seen on screen and extra hair, a detail that deserves to be highlighted knowing that I am the first to regularly criticize LEGO for not providing a hair accessory. for the characters delivered with a helmet.

This helmet mold is not exclusive to Ant-Man, we find the same yellow part to dress Firefly in the LEGO DC Comics set 76117 Batman Mech vs. Poison Ivy Mech marketed since the beginning of the year.

76124 War Machine Buster

The two Outriders provided are identical and differ only by the accessories with which they are equipped: LEGO reuses for these two minifigs the torso and the head already seen in several sets of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes range and adds for one of them. between them the new shoulder pad already seen in two sets of the The LEGO Movie 2 range.

76124 War Machine Buster

In summary, this box sold for 34.99 € deserves your full attention, especially if you already have the set 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up. This War Machine Buster is perfectly consistent with the Hulkbuster and the two armors are pretty much on the same scale.

For the rest, the endowment in minifigs is a little stingy with these two generic Outriders and a third major character would have been welcome in place of one of the two villains.

As usual, the set is already sold at a lower price than its usual public price by amazon and less than 30 €, there is in my opinion no reason to ignore this small box.

THE WAR MACHINE BUSTER SET 76124 ON THE LEGO SHOP >>

lego marvel avengers limited edition singapore set

Some visuals were circulating on the usual channels but it's now official: LEGO Singapore social media announcement a promotional operation that will allow you to win a small modular set.

We do not know much for the moment about this construction which incorporates transparent panels bearing the image of the Avengers and which can serve as both a display and a storage box. It is also difficult to know if the set will or will not obtain one or more minifigs. The visual below features an Iron Man minifigure in version Quantum Suit which could simply be that of the polybag 30452 Iron Man and Dum-E :

We do know, however, via the visuals below that the offer to obtain the thing should also take place in South Korea.

At this point, there is no confirmation that this is an official product. This creation associated with the launch of the film is perhaps quite simply a model proposed one of the LEGO Certified Professionals based in Asia who regularly collaborate with LEGO on the occasion of various and varied events.

More information in the coming days.

Update : Contest rules are now online at this address. No minifig in the set. Operation running from April 22 until May 5, 2019. Random draw on May 6, 22 winners among those who have spent at least $ 150 at Toys R Us Singapore and sent the participation SMS.

76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet

Today we are quickly interested in the LEGO Marvel set 76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet (838 pieces - 89.99 €) which allows us to obtain a new version of the Quinjet after the very (too) compact vintage version of the set 76127 Captain Marvel and The Skrull Attack marketed this year.

This is not the first Quinjet in LEGO sauce and collectors certainly remember the sets 6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle (2012) 76032 The Avengers Quinjet City Chase (2015) or 76051 Superhero Airport Battle (2016) who in their time offered more or less successful versions of the ship.

The version offered here can, as the title of the set specifies in the English version, be qualified as "ultimate": it is rather elaborate and is sufficient on its own in a set without additional frills. Even the slightly ridiculous motorcycle delivered in this box was probably not necessary.

Overall, we can indeed say that it is successful. The lines are there, we recognize the ship immediately and there is space inside to house the tricycle and some minifigs. LEGO has even thought about the youngest fans and has not forgotten to add a few machine launchers for maximum playability.

76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet

Nothing complicated during the assembly phase, we stack the pieces from bottom to top and we end with the wings, the various canopies and other hatches that allow access to the interior of the vessel, without forgetting to stick to the passage the seven stickers provided. The result is visually very pleasant even if by manipulating the ship one realizes its relative fragility in certain places.

The most annoying: the two black cones placed at the front of the cockpit which come off at the slightest contact. A little less annoying: the leading edge of the wings that can be easily detached if you are not careful. In fact, it is best to grab the ship from below, the lower part of the hull being the strongest of the build.

By the way, I note that LEGO has not even bothered to try to integrate even minimalist landing gear here. The vessel therefore rests on its flat bottom.

76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet

Do not be impressed by the orange Nexo Powers placed on the two rear reactors: They are only used as decoration and no ejection mechanism is provided. Fortunately, LEGO has integrated a large retractable rotating cannon that is stored in the cargo hold of the ship through the rear hatch.

It is this same hatch that allows the motorcycle to come and be sheltered from enemy fire. You have to re-enter the motorcycle before storing the barrel, otherwise it will not work.

Once is not customary, access to the interior space is facilitated by the opening of the upper canopy of the adjoining piece of cabin which will allow an adult hand to pass through. The cockpit can also accommodate any minifigure, without restriction in terms of the hairstyle worn by the character.

76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet

Seen in profile, this Quinjet reveals a clumsy and massive side which at least has the advantage of facilitating its handling. As I said above, I think the ship would have looked more convincing with a set of landing gears though.

The finishing of the wings is rather basic. Some will find that the presence of studs on the surface is not a problem since it is a LEGO product while others would have preferred a more complete finish of the upper wing area. I belong to this second category.

At the end of each of the wings, an adjustable element allows you to change the look of the ship a little. Too bad the connection points between the body of the wings and these meta parts are also visible.

76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet

The supplied tricycle is only of interest because it fits in the Quinjet hold. The rider's stance is ridiculous and will bring back memories for those who already own the Spider-Man motorcycle from the set 76113 Spider-Man Bike Rescue.

The minifig endowment is interesting even if many fans are a little disappointed by the presence of an absolutely identical outfit for Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye, Thor and Black Widow. LEGO didn't even bother to adapt Black Widow's torso as a female version, it's the same Quantum Suit for everyone.

The usual pad printing defect at the junction between the thighs and the lower legs is once again very present with a gray mesh which reveals a very unsightly white mesh.

Rocket Raccoon is logically equipped with short legs and since there are no small savings, LEGO didn't bother to pad this part, at least on the front side of the character's feet. It's disappointing.

lego marvel 76126 ultimate quinjet avengers 13 1

LEGO could also have applied a white tint to all three sides of the room with the tail that fits between the minifigure's torso and legs. The manufacturer knows how to do it, it is on the Picsou minifigure from Disney Collectible Minifig Series 2.

Double face for everyone (except Rocket Raccoon, of course), it's always taken. Thor is here equipped with the Stormbreaker to build with a few parts for a rather convincing result even if the weapon deserved in my opinion a molded version a little more accomplished.

lego marvel 76126 ultimate quinjet avengers 14 1

In the box, you will also find two Chitauris which seem to me a little less successful than those seen in the sets 6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle et 6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle marketed in 2012.

The absence of pad printing on the legs of these two identical minifigs is not unrelated to this feeling, even if the pretty torso and the head pad printed on two sides, two unpublished pieces, are acceptable. The armament of the two villains is a bit oversized and as usual with this type of part-based weapon, the balance of the minifig that holds it becomes very precarious ...

lego marvel 76126 ultimate quinjet avengers 15

In short, forget all the previous Quinjets, this is the one you need to stage on your shelves. The ship is really successful and its playability is very correct. Add a few wheels to raise the cabin a bit and you're done.

89.99 €, it is as usual a little expensive especially for a lot of minifigs all dressed with the same outfit. Either you wait for Amazon to break the price of this box, or you take advantage from April 19 of the promotion which will allow from € 75 to purchase get the small set 40334 Avengers Tower on the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores. In any case, I say yes for this beautiful box.

THE AVENGERS ULTIMATE QUINJET SET 76126 ON THE LEGO SHOP >>

40334 Avengers Tower

It's confirmed and those who follow the Good Deals page of the blog have noticed that the offer has been online for about ten days: The LEGO Marvel set 40334 Avengers Tower, whose official visuals are now online, will be offered from 75 € purchase in products from the LEGO Marvel range  on the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores from next April 19 and until May 2, 2019 (if there are any left ...).

Everyone will have noticed that the box uses the VHS format already used for the three exclusive boxes LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Super Heroes sold during the last San Diego Comic Con.

We could discuss the look of the Avengers mini-tower delivered here with its presentation base, but since the supplied Tony Stark / Iron Man minifigure is exclusive, we will not discuss.

For those who have already purchased all of the Marvel Avengers Endgame sets, the Spider-Man sets Far From Home will be available on April 22, 2019. The risk that the promotional set will already be sold out by that date exists, although the obligation to purchase LEGO Marvel will necessarily limit the volume.

(Thanks to Svengison for confirming the offer in France)

Unless otherwise specified, the operation will take place in all LEGO Stores.

Be careful not to arrive late, quantities are limited and it will be necessary to play elbows with those who have come to look for one or more copies to resell them for 30 € on eBay. Do not forget to bring a child with you, even if on the event page LEGO does not currently mention an age limit to participate in this operation.
