5005256 Marvel Avengers Infinity War

Today we quickly make the rounds of the pack of minifigs LEGO Marvel Avengers Infinity War bearing the reference 5005256, initially intended to be distributed exclusively by Toys R Us as part of the traditional "Bricktober" operation.

The international fiasco that followed the closure or takeover of the brand's stores in several countries has since called into question this method of distribution in certain geographical areas. In France, Toys R Us will survive and, we have known for a few days, will market two of the four limited edition packs available, the reference of which interests us here.

The four minifigs provided here are exclusive to this pack until proven guilty. We can also consider that these are characters who were probably intended to integrate different sets already marketed in which their presence was justified. More than just variants, these are versions that can be directly associated with certain scenes seen in the films.

5005256 Marvel Avengers Infinity War

If we count Iron Patriot seen in the polybag 30168 (it's up to you), this is the fourth version of War Machine after that of the sets 76006 Iron Man: Extremis Sea Port Battle (2013) et 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle (2016)

Everything is played here on the (numerous) details which dress the armor in Mark IV version worn by James Rhodes with a pad printing extended to the arms of the characters. The double-sided face is very successful with on one side the red HUD generated by the armor and which is therefore not really intended to be present once the helmet is removed. In short, we know it's there, it's well done, I take.

Despite a limited presence on the screen, the minifigure could easily have found its place in the sets 76101 Outrider Dropship Attack (2018) or 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up (2018)

Bucky Barnes, who becomes White Wolf on screen, is delivered here in a version that could also have been included in the set 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up (2018). Nothing crazy, but the outfit is faithful to the one seen in the cinema with the added bonus of a nice pad printing on the left arm and a holster on the right leg.

Collectors will hardly be able to do without this new variant which joins the two other interpretations of the character: the minifig seen in the sets 76047 Black Panther Pursuit (2016) et 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle (2016) and that of polybag 5002943 (2015).

5005256 Marvel Avengers Infinity War

Doctor Strange's staunch companion Wong is a beloved character among fans and his absence from the LEGO lineup has always been a source of frustration for collectors.

This minifigure could in fact have been delivered in sets 76060 Doctor's Strange Sanctum Sanctorum (2016) or 76108 Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown (2018) even if the character's presence on the screen during Infinity War is more than anecdotal due to his hasty departure for New York ...

5005256 Marvel Avengers Infinity War

Wong is here accompanied by a work from the library of the palace of Kamar Taj. The minifig does the job with a pad printing that takes up the different attributes of the character's costume well, even if I find the whole visually a bit messy with a red background that does not really highlight the different printed patterns.

In the box, we also find a version of Tony Stark which would also have had its place in the set 76108 Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown (2018). In my opinion, the pair of Dita Mach One glasses worn by Robert Downey Jr is missing, but this version will do. Pretty pad printing on the chest and arms of the character with hood on the back and shiny effect quite convincing for the whole outfit.

5005256 Marvel Avengers Infinity War

In short, there is no need to overdo it on these four new minifigs that collectors will in any case have to get to sleep better at night. Diorama enthusiasts can also use them to enhance their diverse and varied staging. They are successful and original enough to justify a purchase of this pack which will be sold by Toys R Us in November, it is just a matter of accepting the idea of spending twenty euros to get them.

Note: The pack presented here is as usual in play. To participate in the raffle, simply post a comment on this article before November 9 at 23:59 p.m.. You have every right to disagree with me, this is not eliminatory.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.

New LEGO Marvel Spider-Man 2019: some official visuals

While waiting for better, here is something to get a more precise idea of the sets planned for early December 2018 which feature Spider-Man, some of his allies and several of his usual enemies with a series of official visuals.

Exit the LEGO Juniors range, which is replaced by a version called "4+" whose content is also suitable for the youngest with simplified constructions.

The prices indicated below are those that will be charged by the Dutch brand which has already listed these boxes in its catalog.

The 76115 Spider-Man Mech vs. Venom had already been unveiled at the last San Diego Comic Con.

  • 76113 Spider-Man Bike Rescue
    235 pieces - Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Carnage - 29.99 €
  • 76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler
    418 pieces - Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Vulture, Sandman - 44.99 €
  • 76115 Spider Mech vs. Venom
    604 pieces - Spider-Man, Venom, Ghost Spider, Aunt May - 54.99 €
  • 76133 Spider-Man Car Chase
    52 pieces - Spider-Man, Green Goblin - € 9.99
  • 76134 Spider-Man: Doc Ock Diamond Heist
    150 pieces - Spider-Man, Dock Worker, Doc Ock - 29.99 €

(Visuals seen online on the online store Brickshop.nl)

76110 Batman The Attack of the Talons

Today we are interested in a somewhat strange set marketed since this summer: the DC Comics reference 76110 Batman The Attack of the Talons (155 pieces - 26.99 €) which is in fact a joyful patchwork of nods to the universe of the vigilante of Gotham City.

It was unlikely, but LEGO did. Mixing in the same box minifigs based on a dark arc (and ultra-popular) Court of the Owls, with Ace the Bat-Hound in a version obviously inspired by different recent animated series where the dog makes several appearances.

To dilute it all, LEGO is adding an aggressive looking vehicle that looks like it came straight out of the Batcave, but I couldn't find a trace anywhere. What a melting pot!

76110 Batman The Attack of the Talons

We will quickly forget the supplied tricycle which, even if it is rather pretty, is only there to ensure the quota "construction toy" of the set and to attract young fans. They will find in this box enough to expand the garage of their Batcave.

Smart choice, LEGO has provided space on the right side of the Bat-Moto to house Ace the Bat-Hound, a character who will also appeal to the youngest who have watched the various animated series featuring the character in a loop. .

The Batman minifigure, here dressed in Thrasher armor but without the logo on the chest, is stunning. Too bad for the absence of the black symbol which is still pad printed on the torso itself.

No noticeable printing problem on the copy I have, just a slight misalignment of the pads between the torso and the hips. Some fans will certainly be annoyed by this type of flaw.

In fact, the minifigure can almost do without the slightly neutral armor already seen in the set. 76044 Clash of the Heroes (2016) which conceals the pretty pad printing of the torso. The piece is consistent with the desire to replicate Thrasher armor, but the only aesthetic improvement seen is that it only swells Batman's torso. Small advantage when you notice that it hides the magnificent armor placed below.

The possibility of pad printing the two faces of the head of the minifigures is here put to good use. While we find a little too often simple variations of the look or the smile, LEGO offers here two very different impressions.

A side that fits perfectly under the mask with a red visor and a mouth covered with a grid that remains visible through the slit of the mask and a version where the visor is damaged and subtly reveals the face of Bruce Wayne. It is very successful.

lego dccomics 76110 batman attack heels 2018 4

The two lugs (Heels) provided in this set are identical and only differ by the weapons with which they are equipped. Rather logical, these assassins are all dressed in the same costume. Too bad for the lack of pad printing on the legs, a few lines, even discreet, would have been welcome.

To amuse the little ones, LEGO also throws in the box a whole series of oversized Batarangs without much interest. The MOCeurs will perhaps use it to dress their various and varied bat-vehicles.

Come to think of it, maybe all of this didn't deserve a € 26.99 box. A pack identical to the one carrying the reference 853744 containing Knightmare batman and two Parademons at € 12.99 would have been sufficient. Too bad for the dog and the tricycle.

The good news is thatamazon currently sells this box for less than 19 €. At this price, I say yes, to have fun, to add a new armor to its collection or to make a nice affordable gift on the occasion of a birthday.

Note: The set shown here is put into play as usual. To participate in the raffle, simply post a comment on this article before October 7 at 23:59 p.m.. You have every right to disagree with me, this is not eliminatory.

Captain Marvel: first trailer while waiting for the LEGO sets (and the movie ...)

The first trailer for the Captain Marvel movie is now available. Pending theatrical release scheduled for March 6, 2019 and the announcement of the LEGO sets that are sure to accompany the film, I remind you that you can always get a minifig of the character in the set 76049 Avenjet Space Mission released in 2016. It's not really a version of actress Brie Larson, but it will do until better.

For the rest, the sets based on the film can probably be found in the 761XX reference set already online at amazon without indication of their name or content but which we know are indeed sets from the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes range.

The New York Comic Con 2018 will open its doors on October 4th, we can hope that LEGO will take advantage of its presence to unveil at least one set based on the film.

LEGO DC Comics 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile

Today we are interested in the set 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile (321 pieces - 99.99 €) which will be available from August 1st and which promises to be able to take control of the supplied motorized Batmobile.

As much to evacuate immediately the annoying question: This Batmobile does not look like anything existing in the DC Comics universe. If the minifigure (exclusive to this set) is well inspired by the Arkham Knight video game, the vehicle is clearly not. It looks more like an armored military device. Moders can also easily appropriate the chassis of the thing and do what they want, maybe a real Batmobile ...

LEGO DC Comics 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile

LEGO apparently decided to offer a motorized contraption and then tried to dress up the chassis, the four big wheels and the hub. Powered Up integrated to turn the thing into a Batmobile. The result is in my opinion very disappointing from a purely aesthetic point of view. I looked around a bit but couldn't find a Batmobile that even vaguely resembles this contraption. It is also not a reproduction in the format Chibi of something existing in the universe of the vigilante of Gotham City.

If you look on the bright side, the compactness of the vehicle makes it relatively solid and therefore more suitable for its end use. I obviously would have preferred to get a Batmobile like the one seen in the Arkham Knight video game, bigger, more detailed, more slender, etc ...

LEGO DC Comics 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile

To move, this Batmobile uses two motors Powered Up. Each motor controls two wheels placed on the same side, as is already the case with the tracked vehicle from the LEGO Technic set 42065 RC Tracked Racer. Nothing very complicated, the assembly of the 300 parts is also completed in a few minutes.

The Powered Up hub is slipped into the belly of the vehicle, it can be removed in seconds to change the batteries and it is topped with a pad-printed on / off button. Note that there is no sticker in this set.

LEGO DC Comics 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile

The two motors are connected to the Bluetooth hub by their respective cables which must be concealed in the body of the vehicle by folding them and sliding them into the spaces provided. The integration of the cables is a little rough and it will be necessary to ensure that nothing protrudes at the risk of catching something during the phases of displacement. The valve which protects the cables at the rear of the vehicle is not clipped to the bodywork, be careful to fold it down before playing with your Batmobile.

To pilot the machine, you need a smartphone under iOS or Android and the application Powered Up already used for new LEGO CITY trains 60197 Passenger Train et 60198 Freight Train which has been updated recently to take control of this Batmobile.

LEGO DC Comics 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile

LEGO has planned two different piloting interfaces for this Batmobile. The first (on a red background) allows you to precisely manage the speed of movement, to perform a full U-turn and to make a 270 ° turn accompanied by a wheelie. Some sound effects broadcast via the smartphone speaker accompany these different functions.

The diffusion of these sound elements via the speaker of the smartphone spoils the experience a little. It is the one who drives the Batmobile who benefits the most and it will be difficult to surprise someone sitting a few meters away with this machine ...

The interface on a blue background allows its side to perform a rotation on the spot, a wheeling and a reverse gear accompanied by some sound effects.

The Bluetooth connection is carried out quickly, I did not notice any particular problem on this subject except that the smartphone and the vehicle must be synchronized again between each change of control interface.

You can also control the Batmobile using the remote control supplied with the two LEGO CITY trains but you will lose the possibility to use the few effects specific to this set and to gradually reduce or increase the speed of rotation of the two motors . These will then only operate at full power.

We quickly get into the game, it's easy to handle and really fun, even for a slightly jaded adult like me ... I suppose that the youngest will really enjoy it and the Batmobile, which weighs 520 grams including batteries, is moves rather quickly. We do not feel here the frustration of seeing the vehicle moving too slowly which would spoil the experience. Well done for that.

A small reminder to the attention of all those who would consider offering this box, LEGO does not provide the six AAA batteries necessary for the operation of the hub which manages the two motors. You can obviously use rechargeable batteries.

As I said above, the minifig delivered is (for the moment) exclusive to this box. The Batman costume is the one seen in the Arkham Knight video game with a black torso and legs in Pearl Dark Gray. The mask is also in Pearl Dark Gray ( Titanium Metallic) as in the set 76044 Clash of the Heroes marketed in 2016. The transparent support below is not provided.

This minifigure can of course be placed in the cockpit of the vehicle, but I'm not sure many of us will take the risk of losing an exclusive minifigure in the garden, especially since the canopy only holds a few studs and has no no hinges that would keep it in place more securely ...

LEGO DC Comics 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile

Sold € 99.99 without batteries or controller, this 300-piece "Batmobile" is a bit expensive for my taste. For those who are wondering, the application Powered Up is obviously downloadable for free on the App Store or the Google Play Store. But it is imperative to have a smartphone to have fun right out of the box and LEGO could have provided the basic controller delivered in the LEGO CITY sets 60197 and 60198 to allow immediate use, even limited.

The presence of an exclusive minifigure in the box will convince the parents of collectors to invest a hundred euros in this set. The Batmobile for the youngest, the minifigure for mom or dad. It is well seen.

The chassis provided will be a good starting point for those who wish to transform this somewhat shapeless machine and achieve something more stylish. With a little imagination, the possibilities are endless.

The LEGO DC Comics set 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile (321 pieces - € 99.99) will be available from August 1st on the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores.

Note: The set shown here, supplied by LEGO, is included in the game. To participate in the raffle, simply post a comment on this article before August 7 at 23:59 p.m.. You have every right to disagree with me, this is not eliminatory.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
