After the early release of the product by Amazon China, today it's LEGO's turn to officially unveil the LEGO Super Mario set. 71387 Adventures with Luigi, a box of 280 pieces which will make it possible to obtain an interactive figurine of Luigi and what to assemble some new game boards. Note that this new Starter Course includes departure and arrival tags.

The Luigi figurine, which will for the occasion be accompanied by Pink Yoshi (Yoshi Rose), the Koopa Troopa Boom Boom (Boom Boom) and a Bone Goomba (Goomb'os) will be from the same barrel as Mario's but with a different cap, a more emaciated face, longer legs and a suitable mustache. The visual on the packaging is self-explanatory: the two miniatures can be connected to each other for a cooperative play experience.

The set is already for pre-order on the official online store (59.99 €) and at Zavvi (54.99 € with the polybag 30389 Fuzzy & Mushroom Platform and a t-shirt offered) with availability announced for the month of ... August 2021.

The rumor had been swelling for several days, it is now confirmed: Luigi will be entering the LEGO Super Mario range this summer via a new starter set bearing the reference 71387 Adventures with Luigi (280).

The Luigi figurine, which will be accompanied for the occasion by Pink Yoshi (Yoshi Rose), the Koopa Troopa Boom Boom (Boom Boom) and a Bone Goomba (Goomb'os) will be of the same barrel as that of Mario with a different cap, a more emaciated face, longer legs and a suitable mustache. We will find the integrated screens, the speaker, the Bluetooth connection and the interchangeable outfits.

The arrival of this new character promises some potentially interesting interactions between the two figures, but this will be checked when this new becomes available. Starter Course which will be sold at the public price of 59.99 €.

At least four new expansions are also planned for this summer (ref. 71388 to 71391), two costumes in Power-Up Packs (ref. 71392 & 71393) and a new series of 10 characters in collectable bags, the 3rd since launch of this range (ref. 71394).

Notice to fans of LEGO collectibles who are currently scrambling to assemble the five themed models offered via thehe VIP rewards center, there are at least two other products on the same principle elsewhere in the world. LEGO has indeed offered two pieces 45mm in diameter bearing the likeness of the Mario minifigure with a "Gold" version in Hong Kong and a "Silver" version in South Korea.

Even though there were a few rumors that it would one day, none of these promotional products have been offered anywhere other than Asia to date.

The golden version was put into play at Toys R Us Hong Kong in November 2020 via a scratch card given from 100 HKD of purchase which allowed to try to win one of the 500 copies available. The silver version was offered through the same promotional mechanic in South Korea. These two pieces with a very limited edition and even more limited distribution are obviously for sale on eBay at very high prices. When you love you don't count and the most complete collectors who strive to bring together all the LEGO products in the Super Mario range will perhaps be interested in these two very exclusive products:
