Star Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313 will never see the light of day. And no one will resume development, contrary to what Disney seems to claim to try to save the furniture.
That's about all I take away from Disney's announcement that the studio is shutting down. LucasArts.

It didn't take long for Disney to remind us that we are not joking with an investment of more than $ 4 billion by separating from the Lucasfilms subsidiary dedicated to the development of video games, the results of which have no doubt been judged. insufficient and 150 employees.

The LucasArts label will survive and future Star Wars licensed games will be developed by other studios.

Let's face it, the time for critical and popular hits like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle or Grim Fandango (which were not Star Wars games by the way ...) is over. And most of those who today are sad about this announcement are out of nostalgia. This is also the case for me, but I struggle not to systematically lock myself into the "it was better before"as soon as we broach the subject of Disney / Lucasfilms / Star Wars.

I have a feeling that it is better to look to the future and keep an open mind enough not to live the next 5 or 10 years in a state of permanent disappointment due to nostalgia and conservatism.
