lego explorer panini magazine may 2021

This new magazine was already available under the same title in other countries, it is now arriving in France: the first issue of the LEGO Explorer magazine is currently available on newsstands and I bought a copy out of curiosity.

The publisher Panini announces the color from the cover, the 34-page magazine sold for 5.99 € allows you to obtain an official LEGO polybag with a construction of a few pieces which is in theory in the theme of the content developed inside. With this first number, we obtain the bag bearing the reference 11947 whose inventory of 39 parts to assemble what is in principle a time machine with Steampunk accents.

Assembly instructions are not in the bag, they are on a double-sided printed page to cut out of the magazine, fold and store with your parts in the bag. I scanned the instructions for you, you will find them in the gallery below.

If the bimonthly French version of the magazine follows the same logic as the other editions, some of which are monthly, the polybags provided with the next issues should make it possible to obtain a carnivorous plant (11948), a parrot (11949), a racing car ( 11950), a monkey (11951), a mill with a wind turbine (11952), a lizard (11953), an alien ship (11954) or even a lion (11955). We know that the number 2 of the French version will give the polybag 11949.

It is not known for the moment whether the publisher of the French version of the magazine will catch up with the delay accumulated on other editions and will one day provide the previous polybags containing a robot (11938), an octopus (11939), a medieval castle. (11940), a frog (11941), a lunar module (11942), an ant (11943), a skull (11944), a steam locomotive (11945) and a penguin (11946). If you plan to collect all of these different sachets, the task will therefore seem complicated.

For the rest, the content of the magazine is a little more elaborate than for other media of the same type under Star Wars or Marvel license, there are no comics inside and there are some sections on animals or notion of time that have nothing to do with the LEGO universe, it is the vaguely educational guarantee of the support.

There are also some building tips, several small games without any real challenge for a child and a central poster. We are very far from a Science and Life Junior LEGO, that is clearly not the point.
I scanned four pages of the magazine for you (see gallery below), it's up to you to see if this type of content can appeal to your children, if you have any.

LEGO Marvel Avengers Magazine - May 2021

The new issue of the official LEGO Marvel Avengers magazine is currently available on newsstands and it allows you to get a minifig of Thor already seen in sets 76142 Avengers Speeder Bike Attack (24.99 €) and 76153 Helicarrier (129.99 €).

The next issue of this magazine is announced for July 29 and it will allow us to obtain a minifig of Captain America with hair, double-sided face, shield and helmet which is not unpublished: this is the figurine available currently with this combination of elements in the set 76168 Captain America Mech Armor (9.99 €), the helmet is also present in this form in the sets 76123 Captain America: Outriders Attack (2019) et 76143 Avengers Truck Takedown (2020)

It is therefore difficult to consider spending € 6.50 for this issue expected in July, knowing that it is enough to spend barely more to get the same minifigure and a nice mech to assemble.

LEGO Star Wars Magazine - April 2021

The April 2021 issue of the official LEGO Star Wars magazine is now available and as planned it allows us to get a 45-piece mini V-Wing.

Throughout the pages of this new issue filled as usual with comics, simple games and advertisements for products currently marketed by LEGO, we discover the mini-construction that will be offered from May 12 and it is about 'a 28-piece TIE Bomber.

This is not the first time that a TIE Bomber has accompanied this magazine, a different version with pad-printed canopy was already provided in July 2016 and this same model was subsequently found in a MEGA version of the magazine in April 2018.

Collectors will also remember the model delivered in the set Planet Series 75008 Tie Bomber & Asteroid Field marketed in 2013 or the version to be assembled by combining elements available in the sets 4484 X-Wing Fighter & TIE Advanced, 4485 Sebulba's Podracer & Anakin's Podracer, 4486 AT-ST & Snowspeeder et 4487 Jedi Starfighter & Slave I marketed in 2003.

lego magazine batman dccomics march 2021

The March 2021 issue of the official LEGO Batman magazine is available at newsstands and allows you to get a Batman minifig with its buildable jetpack. The minifigure is the one seen in many sets in the LEGO DC Comics range since 2019, so there is little more than the bag that is unheard of here. For € 6.50, it's meager. Too bad the publisher of this magazine is not a little more daring on the choice of minifigs provided, there is however plenty to do in the DC Comics universe.

If you absolutely want to replicate the supplied jetpack and bat grapple, I've scanned the instructions below for you:

To be continued in June 2021, Robin who will be included with the next issue of this magazine and the minifigure announced is the one already seen in 2020 in the set 76159 Joker's Trike Chase. Not sure that the bat-surfboard provided is enough to justify the purchase of the next issue. It's up to you.

Official LEGO Star Wars Magazine - March 2021

The March 2021 issue of the official LEGO Star Wars magazine is available and it allows you to get Rey Palpatine's grandfather minifig available in the set 75291 Death Star Final Duel (109.99 €). If you don't have anything to do with the bricks sold with the character, this is the opportunity to get this very successful minifig with its angular hood for 5.99 €.

Throughout the pages of this new issue filled as usual with comics, simple games and advertisements for products currently marketed by LEGO, we discover the mini-construction that will be offered from April 14 and it is about 'a 45-piece V-wing.

This "Galatic Republic" version of the ship first seen onscreen in thePart III then in the animated series The Clone Wars or in video games Star Wars Battlefront II et Jedi Star Wars: Fallen Order was produced by LEGO in two classic sets with the reference 6205 V-wing Fighter (2006) followed in 2014 by the set 75039 V-wing Starfighter.
