Millennium Falcon UCS: Do we absolutely have to compare the two LEGO versions?

With the arrival of the new version of the Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series, many are comparing it to the previous, same-sized rendition of the ship which is now 10 years old.

The version of the set 75192 Millennium Falcon is it a welcome evolution of the set model 10179 Millennium Falcon released in 2007? Do you absolutely have to compare the two versions to try to convince yourself not to buy the new one? Supporters of "It was better before"Are they showing a little bad faith? Can we really compare two products released ten years apart, with a radically different number of parts and a public price, not to mention the flagrant evolution of the techniques of construction and new parts used on the 2017 model?

Everyone will have an opinion on the subject but as far as I'm concerned, the new interpretation of the Millennium Falcon wins hands down aesthetically. The mock-up aspect of the whole is further reinforced by this more accomplished finish. I obviously only speak from the outside.

We will talk about this in more detail soon, and we will obviously address the issue of the constant overbidding engaged by LEGO to sell ever bigger / ever more expensive.

If you want to have a little fun in the meantime I have cobbled together the visual below with the slider I now use for the minifigs. It's not perfect, it's just for fun, but it gives you a better idea of the level of detail and finish of the new version.
