It was while surfing FBTB that I came across these incredible minifigs equipped with LEDs. Rob from Brickmodder Labshas succeeded in integrating a LifeLites LED lighting system and a CR1025 format battery in several minifigs at the request of its customers.
In bulk, we thus find a C-3PO Chrome Gold, an R2-D2, an Iron Man or some custom minifigs. The result is stunning and really brings a touch of surrealism to these minifigs.
do not hesitate to visit the blog of this gentleman who presents numerous integrations of LED lighting systems in LEGO products.
Even stronger, he managed to integrate into an R2-D2 minifig a sound / lighting system recovered from a Hasbro figurine. The printed circuit had to be adapted in order to reduce its size to allow integration into the minifig. Everything is powered by a CR1225 battery hidden in the minifig. A touch button has also been integrated on the top of the dome of R2-D2. Watch the video below to admire the result.
If you want to know more about LifeLites LED based systems, go to their website at this address.
