The false ceiling of the LEGO Store still under construction in the grounds of Disney Village is said to have collapsed today.
No details on the presence or absence of people on the site or on the extent of the damage.

This incident could call into question the opening date of the LEGO Store, initially scheduled for September 27.

The info was posted on the forum Disney central plaza and was confirmed by several speakers.

To flesh out the "scandal, the Daily Mail published two reactions gleaned from Twitter. Two. This is meager. Not enough to cry out for the mass reaction against the Citzen Brick initiative.

However, I wonder how LEGO will react if this story spreads, which should happen quickly, on more or less well-meaning social networks and blogs. A bad buzz could be interpreted by the brand as a certain damage to the image and this could possibly lead to some reprimands to the merchant of sets and custom minifigs. In any case, great publicity for the work of Citizen Brick who knows how to produce quality minifigs and who will not fail to make himself known to many potential customers here.

For my part, it is especially the price of the thing that makes me die of laughter: No less than 250 $ for this "set" of 500 pieces which is already "Sold Out", understand out of stock ... At this price, we still get 3 minifigs: Walter White (Bryan Cranston), Gustavo Fring and Mike Ehrmantraut.

The exhibition is held in the Gabriel Rey multipurpose room, rue Du 8 Mai 1945 in Diemoz - Open to the public on Saturday September 14 from 11 a.m. to 00 p.m. and Sunday September 19 from 00 a.m. to 15 p.m. - The price of the entrance ticket is € 10 for children under 00 and € 17 for children over 30. This is the bad news of the day: LEGO will not have a stand at the next New York Comic Con (October 10-13, 2013).

I have just obtained confirmation from the organizers and I had already suspected the absence of LEGO by scrutinizing several times thea list of brands present published on the convention website: LEGO did not appear anywhere.

The choice of LEGO not to participate in this event is surprising. In 2012,, the brand launched the TMNT range with great fanfare at this convention. The crowd was there and the media coverage was up to par.

Perhaps this decision comes to calm things down a bit after the fiasco at San Diego Comic Con 2013: The distribution of tickets to enter the raffle to win one of the exclusive LEGO Super Heroes minifigs had almost gone turned to riot and suspicions of manipulation of the draw by the LEGO staff had even been raised by different sites.

Without a booth and a strong presence, I doubt that LEGO will take advantage of the event to announce anything new. No exclusive minifigs either on this convention.

All I have to do now is get my tickets refunded ...
