While we have to settle for the small set 40355 Year of the Rat currently offered from 80 € / 90 CHF of purchase in products from the new LEGO Monkie Kid range, the manufacturer treats its customers in Asia with some gifts in the colors of the range that the most "complete" collectors will probably have to supply via the market secondary.
On the menu, the polybag 30341 Monkie Kid's Delivery Bike offered which is already lacking to all those who plan to collect all the products of the range, a magnet to display his feelings towards the Monkie Kid universe right up to the fridge door and a pretty storage head, two products offered for the purchase of the set 80012 Monkey King Warrior Mech.
For those who are worried about the Monkie Kid minifig in sushi delivery mode present in polybag 30341, it is not exclusive, it is the one that is also delivered in the sets 80009 Pigsy's Food Truck (64.99 € / 74.90 CHF) and 80011 Red Son's Inferno Truck (€99.99 / CHF129.00).

As expected, the eight boxes of the new range Lego monkie kid are now available for sale on the official online store.
Unsurprisingly, the prices communicated by LEGO during the official announcement of the range were those planned for Germany and as often it will be necessary to pay a few additional euros in France to afford some of these sets:
|
I am curious to know who among you will crack without delay on some of these boxes and who will prefer to wait until the context of this range is a little more settled, in particular via the animated series which will be available soon. Do not hesitate to intervene in the comments on this subject.

THE RANGE IN BELGIUM >> THE RANGE IN SWITZERLAND >>
Note that to accompany the launch of the range, LEGO is offering the set 40355 Year of the Rat from 80 € / 90 CHF purchase of products from the Monkie Kid range. The offer is valid until May 24, 2020. This offer is not a first, the same set was offered from 80 € purchase in January 2020.
We pretend we don't know what it is and today we take advantage of the "official" announcement of the new LEGO theme: the universe Monkie kid.
On the menu, at least eight boxes with a universe based on motorized vehicles and mechs similar to what the Ninjago range already offers, all wrapped in a context loosely inspired by the popular legend of the Monkey King and very steeped in culture and values unique to China. We add a touch of Nexo Knights and we get this new colorful LEGO theme, a little wacky and populated with very original minifigs.
We can also consider that this new range had already been the subject of a "teasing" in 2019 via the monkey king minifig present in one of the 19th series of collectable minifig bags (ref. 71025). The character makes a new appearance in the set this year 80012 Monkey King Warrior Mech with a different pad printing than the 2019 version.
LEGO explains that this new range is the first to be directly inspired by a popular Chinese legend and that it took two years of designers' immersion and testing with Chinese customers to develop the eight sets marketed as of '' today in Asia and tomorrow for the rest of the world:
|
All the usual LEGO barnum, including a dedicated mini-site, promotional products (polybags), in-store events, video clips and an animated series to wrap it all up, will be at work to install and support this new "in-house" theme voluntarily tailor-made for Asian customers.
The manufacturer has also put the small dishes in the big to seduce this clientele with a good dozen new elements created especially for this new range (hair, heads) and a record number of pieces supplied in Metallic Gold in the set 80012 Monkey King Warrior Mech with 119 items that benefited from this treatment.
Below is a selection of official visuals, if you want even more, all of the images provided by LEGO can be found on my flickr gallery in a dedicated album.
LEGO today unveils the set 10273 Haunted Houses, a large box of 3231 pieces (229.99 € / 249.00 CHF) which completes the LEGO version amusement park already made up of sets 10196 Grand Carousel (2009) 10244 Fairground Mixer (2014) 10247 Ferris Wheel (2015) 10257 Carousel (2017) et 10261 Roller Coaster (2018)
As you will have noticed, this box stamped 18+ is no longer in the colors of the defunct LEGO Creator range Consultant, it now benefits from a look similar to that of the manufacturer's other products intended for adult fans and inaugurates a new sub-range logically entitled "Fairground Collection".
Those who are familiar with the attractions of Disneyland parks will find here a mix between Phantom manor ou Mystic manor, for aesthetics, and Tower of Terror, for the (smiles integrated. This box should also satisfy those nostalgic for the Monster Fighters universe who can possibly try to transform this attraction into a haunted house, in the spirit of the construction of the set. 10228 Haunted Houses marketed in 2012.
It will be a question here of assembling a haunted house proposed in the form of a resealable playset and which contains an attraction of type free fall (free fall) with a motorized lift via additional Powered Up elements not supplied: a Smart Hub (88009 - €49.99) And two M engines (88008 - 17.99 €).
The elevator will then be controllable from the application usually used to control the various LEGO sets that use the motorization elements of the Powered Up ecosystem. It is therefore imperative to have a smartphone or tablet to take advantage of the interactivity offered by this product or be content to manually raise the elevator via the crank installed at the rear of the construction.
The respectably-sized mansion, 68cm high, 25cm wide and 25cm deep, is also equipped with a LEGO light brick. In the box: 9 minifigs, including two ghosts, and a skeleton.
Because it is a set for adults, the designers did not hesitate to slip in some references to products that some fans today knew during their childhood: the mansion belongs to Baron Von Barron, a character that appears in several boxes of the LEGO Adventurers range marketed in 1998 and 2000 and we therefore find in the different rooms of the building that house its collection of artifacts a piece of the obelisk from the set 5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise (1998) or an orb from the evil OGEL.
Watching the short 360 ° sequence below, you will see the rear of the construction which is not shown in the photos provided by LEGO. We see the mechanism of the (smiles with the chain that runs along the building.
Until we can offer you a "Review "of this 2020 novelty, please note that this box will be available for early sale for members of the VIP program from May 20, 2020 before global availability announced for June 1, 2020.

If you already have too many LEGOs in your home and other officially licensed products like clothes, water bottles, pens, backpacks or even storage boxes are not enough for you, here's what to take care of with three new 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles that feature pieces, minifigs or minifig heads:
[amazon box="1797210181,1452182272,179721019X" grid="3"]
These officially licensed products offered by publisher Chronicle Books are currently for pre-order and will be available next October.
Perhaps an original gift idea for a fan who already has almost everything in his collection. Alternatively, you can also assemble the puzzle and then glue it into a frame and fix it to the wall. Or save your pennies for real LEGO sets. It's up to you.
