New LEGO CITY Trains 2018: first visual of the Powered Up Bluetooth Hub

Official visuals for LEGO CITY sets 60197 Passenger Train et 60198 Freight Train are now online on the manufacturer's server and this is the opportunity to get a closer look at the ecosystem PowerFunctions 2.0 ( Powered Up) with its central brick, a Hub more compact than the big LEGO Boost brick in the set 17101 Creative Toolbox, its Bluetooth remote control and the smartphone control application.

This set is indeed part of the concept "Powered Up"set up by LEGO and which brings together all the products offering a certain interactivity via additional elements such as motors Power Functions or Move hub and the sensors of the LEGO Boost ecosystem.

It will therefore be possible to control the two new trains using the Android or iOS application. Lego powered up dedicated, on the same principle as the Batmobile in the set 76112 App-controlled Batmobile (which will however be delivered without a physical remote control).

For those who still doubted it, LEGO clearly states on the packaging that the Bluetooth technology implemented here cannot be used with previous LEGO trains equipped with a system. Power Functions first generation.

No visuals of the connectors that will be used by the different new elements, but they should logically be identical connectors to those present on the different elements of the set 17101 Creative Toolbox and in the kit LEGO Education WeDo 2.0.
