10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter (Photo by jabadala)

LEGO never ceases to amaze us and the latest find from the manufacturer should be a problem for many buyers of the set 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter : The sticker intended to dress the canopy of the X-Wing cockpit turns out to be extremely difficult to apply.

It is still difficult to find a review where the one who explains in detail the assembly of this high-end set intended for collectors has tried to stick the sticker supplied. Rufus did it for Eurobricks, as jabadala which features the photo above.

Rare are those who in recent years affix the stickers on their models, they prefer to store these sheets of stickers in a dark place, no doubt afraid of the prices charged by sellers in the secondary market for a replacement sheet. Some boards are negotiated for several hundred euros.

This sticker for the cockpit is also delivered in two copies in the box of set 10240, probably to allow a replacement after a few months / years of drying under the light. Unless LEGO is aware of the difficulty of correctly applying this sticker and offers to give a second chance to the more reckless among us.

The rare attempts to apply this sticker are the result of complex manipulations aimed at allowing perfect positioning without leaving air bubbles under the sticker. Some use the technique used to position screen protectors on smartphones or tablets, others go bravely by simply following the instructions provided by LEGO on the dedicated page of the instruction booklet: Cutting, folding, sliding, it feels like a lesson in origami ...

at € 209.99 per box, this improbable sticker is a matter of pettiness. A silkscreen printing of the canopy would certainly have required more work from LEGO, but the end result expected by all those who invest considerable sums in this type of set would have been all the better ...

If you are embarking on the adventure of installing this sticker, do not hesitate to come and talk about the technique used in the comments.

New LEGO Star Wars Magnet - Boba Fett

For the more curious of you who are wondering how the minifigs provided in the new LEGO magnets are attached, here are some views (posted on EB by Solscud007) which allow you to discover the system used by the manufacturer so that you understand that you will now have to forget all the grandmother's tricks that have so far allowed you to take your minifigs off their base.

The minifig is now firmly fixed on its base which serves as background decorative. A metal fastener simply crosses the minifigure right through at the back.

I think the message is clear: Unless you want to decorate your fridge with these magnets which are actually quite aesthetically pleasing, go your way and run to buy your minifigs at retail on eBay or Bricklink.

These magnets are sold for € 5.99 on the Lego shop, and LEGO warns you in all honesty in the description of the product: "... Attaches to refrigerators, lockers and most metal surfaces ... The figure cannot be detached from the decorated plate ..."

star wars games electronic arts

Small editorial digression with the official announcement by Disney of the arrival of Electronic Arts at the helm of the next "serious" games of the franchise, the so-called "core games".

Disney Interactive retains the "lead"for everything related to the so-called games"casual", notably with games intended for mobile platforms (iPhone, iPad, iTrucs, Andromachins, etc.)

As part of the contract which has just been signed, EA should surround itself with recognized development studios such as Bioware (SW: TOR), DICE (Battlefield) or Visceral (Dead Space) to carry out its mission during the next years. Everything will be done in close collaboration with the Lucasfilm teams.

The promise is there, it remains to be seen what will come out of Electronic Arts' hat in the years to come. However, we should no longer hear of Star Wars: 1313 or First assault. These two games seem to be definitely missing and sacrificed on the altar of change and renewal wanted by Disney.

The titles in development will be officially announced in the coming months.

As usual then, wait and see...

LEGO Batman The Movie DC Super Heroes Unite

Many of you have written to me asking where to find the special edition of "film" LEGO Batman The Movie DC Super Heroes Unite accompanied by the exclusive Clark Kent minifigure.

A seller from the amazon marketplace has just put this collector's pack on sale on amazon.es and amazon.it.

As usual with the marketplace or with the foreign versions of Amazon, you will have to pay the shipping costs to France and the overall invoice seems at first glance a little high.

Amazon.co.uk also offers an import version of this collector's pack, but which is still in the process of being supplied at the time of this writing.

This pack is also available on eBay, but beware of shipping costs, the sellers are located abroad (USA & UK).

LEGO® STAR WARS ™ THE YODA CHRONICLES

The pitch is (or was) enticing: "... For centuries, Yoda ™ has been training future Jedi Knights ™, but nothing could have prepared them for this ... The dark side is developing an extremely powerful weapon that no Jedi ™ can use. has never been confronted. Play now to take control of the galaxy!
Build, create and control your favorite characters and vehicles to defeat your enemies, solve puzzles and complete challenges in the LEGO® Star Wars ™ universe ...
"

205 MB later, here I am trying the new free video game offered by LEGO on my iPhone.

The verdict is final, although a few other blogs can say that praise this game: We are bored to death ... It's very well produced, it's pretty, but the pleasure is not at the Appointment. A few app crashes later, I've already moved on.

The cinematic sequences are nice, the starting principle is interesting and we expect more than the simplistic missions that are proposed. Even the youngest should quickly tire of it.

Hopefully a future update that will fix the issues. With the current level of quality of some games offered on iOS, LEGO has no excuse not to correct the major flaws in this application.

The Android version is expected for summer 2013.
