Custom Iron Patriot - http://minifigs4u.com/

We still do not know if LEGO will produce a minifig version of Iron Patriot and I therefore preferred to ensure my rear by ordering the custom of minifigs4u. It was also an opportunity to test their production.

I placed my order online on their site and a few weeks later I received my carefully packed minifig. No worries on that side then.

First observation: It's still a good job overall. The print is very clean, with no smudges. The overlays are well managed and the alignments are correct.

Only regret: Too much relief at the level of the screen printing. Christo manages to get out of minifigs on which the relief is much less important.

On the design side, it's okay without reaching the finesse of Christo's creations. The minifigure is faithful to the model seen in the trailer for the film, but some features lack a bit of finesse. With a finer line, the level of detail could have been higher, especially on the face.

Speaking of the helmet printed on the head, it lacks the red piping and again Christo does better on his minifigs with a metallic gray. minifigs4u gives here a much duller and less uniform gray.

Overall, minifigs4u offers here a custom of good quality, but which remains below the official LEGO production. Only Christo currently manages to compete with the manufacturer in terms of both design and print quality.

This Iron Patriot custom is sold for $ 25.95. You must add $ 8.00 for shipping, for a total of $ 33.95.

It is also available on lapetitbrique.fr at a rate of 23.95 €.

Conclusion: It's less good than Christo, but it's also cheaper ...

LEGO Castle 2013 - 70403 Dragon Mountain & 70401 Gold Getaway

This Nuremberg Toy Fair definitely does not tell us much (actually nothing) about the licensed ranges. Not a picture, not a report, nothing of nothing.

To console yourself, here are two new images of the sets in the range castle is back issues of Fedro's flickr gallery.

We see the content of the set 70404 King's Castle closer, and we discover the sets 70401 Gold Getaway et 70403 Dragon Mountain.

It's always better than nothing while waiting for the New York Toy Fair which will take place from February 10 to 13, 2013.

Traditionally, it is during this event that we discover the most novelties with the many photos published by the fans present on site.

LEGO Store Lille

Vince (thank you to him) sent me this photo taken at 9:00 am this morning in front of the LEGO Store in Lille, which however only opened its doors at 10 am ...

You will notice like me that it is not the children who are in line to hope to collect the gift of the day: The set 3300003-1 LEGO Brand Store.

Let's just say that the 100 or 150 € that brings the sale of this set on eBay1?ff3=9&pub=5575046059&toolid=10001&campid=5337309211&customid=&uq=LEGO+3300003&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER] or leboncoin.fr may justify the patience and motivation of some.

If you were there this morning, come tell us all about it in the comments.

New Star Wars packaging - Second semester 2013

The information went unnoticed by LEGO fans, and for good reason it does not concern us: The official packaging of products derived from the Star Wars saga will change during the year 2013.

Yoda will disappear in favor of a very vintage Darth Vader which will therefore come to dress the boxes of most manufacturers including Hasbro.
LEGO has already confirmed that its Star Wars product line will not be affected by this change of dressing.

But there is still a major problem to be resolved: This change of visual was motivated by the release at the end of the year of Episodes II (Attack of the Clones) and III (Revenge of the Sith) in 3D in movie theaters.

However, we now know that Lucasfilm has canceled the 3D release of these two films to better focus on the future Episode VII.

We can also assume that Disney prefers to focus on the development of the saga rather than capitalizing on the fans' relative nostalgia for Episodes II and III: The 3D conversion of Episode I The Phantom Menace, although it remains a financially profitable operation, has not met with the expected success.

In short, all this to tell you about a change that does not concern us and that may not happen.
