San Diego Comic-Con 2012

So this San Diego Comic Con 2012 comes to an end and it's time to take stock of what LEGO has offered us so we can salivate and start saving for 2013.

First of all, we must recognize in LEGO its ability to maintain the buzz. Each piece of information, no matter how small, has been the subject of dozens of articles on various blogs or sites dealing with LEGO news, including my own blogs of course. The smallest bit of minifig, exclusive poster or tin can generated reports throughout the LEGOsphere. FBTB was the main actor in the media coverage of the event. All the information, exclusives, images were provided by them, almost in real time. Everyone else, including myself, was suspended from their reports to relay the information in our turn. It's very frustrating, but it's better than nothing.

To remember this year:

About the range LEGO Star Wars, a little disappointment. We had to be content with Rancor Pit, modular addition to the set 9516 Jabba's Palace released this year. The Rancor figurine is nice, the idea of completing Jabba's palace is great. And that's all. The exclusive set Darth Maul's Mini Sith Infiltrator in the form of a metal box sold for $ 40 at Comic Con including some parts and the Darth Maul The Clone Wars in polybag was enough to fuel the buzz and fill the home pages.

Range Lego super heroes also benefited from minimum service. No sets, no shattering announcement, just twenty minifigs, successful certainly, but which confirm that LEGO is betting on the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, and which seem to indicate that we will perhaps be entitled to some tasty sets in the universe The Dark Knight (Bane) or Arkham Asylum. but nothing officially confirmed. It took 4 exclusive minifigs (Bizarro, Phoenix, Shazam, Black spidey) to stir up spirits around their ultra-limited mintage, the possibility that these minifigs will never be released in volume in future sets, and the exorbitant price tag asked on eBay by the luckiest visitors to the show.

On the side of the range Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit, only one set was officially presented: The Hobbit: Bag End. We also discovered some minifigs from The Hobbit range scheduled for December 2012. No additional information regarding a second Lord of the Rings wave. I think LEGO is going to switch to the universe of The Hobbit, and that the sets based on the LOTR trilogy were just an introduction that will not be followed by new references. But I could be wrong. Here again the buzz has been expertly maintained with a minifigure delivered in a collector's version in a mini jute bag.

On the side of the range Ninjago, nothing very exciting, except a preview of the second season from the animated series based on this universe.

In the end, we talked a lot about LEGO, from 2013, but we didn't necessarily discover much concrete. Apart from the pieces of plastic presented, everything else is pure speculation on the part of the community. Everyone has their own predictions, with The Dark Knight sets in spades or an Arkham UCS asylum ...

Next step, Celebration VI which will take place August 23-26, 2012 in Orlando, Florida. LEGO is expected to unveil other 2013 novelties there. New York Comic-Con 2012 from October 11 to 14, 2012 (I will be there in the flesh, but I will talk to you about it again) with there also new revelations expected on the manufacturer's flagship ranges.

LEGO Store Saarbrücken

More and more of you are coming to the blog via Google looking for information about the LEGO Store in Saarbrücken (or Saarbrücken). It is indeed the closest official store for us French (and again, not for everyone ...) and the ninth opened in Germany.

So, to summarize, it has been open since February 24, 2012, you will also find photos of the inauguration on the website of the Fanabriques association.

The exact address of the store located in a pedestrian area is as follows: Bahnhofstraße 77 66111 Saarbrücken. The nearest car park is located at Sulzbachstrasse. If you can't find it, see the storefront photo above.

The opening hours indicated on the dedicated page of the official LEGO website are as follows: Monday to Saturday 10am to 00pm.

Do not expect aggressive prices, the store mainly charges the brand's public prices, except for special promotions.

15/07/2012 - 12:22 Minifigure Series

It is Bizzy78 who is the first to offer us real photos of the Series 8 minifigs (8833).

I took the liberty of grouping them together in a single image just to keep it short, but you can always go to his flickr gallery to zoom in on the characters that interest you.

_Tiler Camouflage Tumbler

He will not have waited for the release of the film The Dark Knight Rises to offer its own version of the Tumbler in camouflage mode and equipped with a retractable rocket launcher.

This is not the classic Tumbler but a widely modified version that we are offering today _Tile. Despite everything, the cockpit can accommodate a minifig, as on its previous model (You can also download the instructions in pdf format).

By the way, since LEGO unveiled a Bane minifig in TDKR version, are we going to be entitled to a set including the Tumbler?
