BAT-Rotor by Si-MOCs

It's still very quiet right now on the Super Heroes themed MOC front and Si-MOCs got me out of my morning torpor with these two absolutely awesome MOCs.

The BAT-Rotor first of all, intended to participate in the competition Wings of Justice organized by FBTB, with its simply perfect color scheme, and which could very well have existed in the Batman universe as the codes of the machines piloted by Bruce Wayne are respected.

A form recognizable among a thousand, two swivel rotors, shovel cannons and a cockpit simply equipped with a canopy from the set 8095 General Grievous' Starfighter released in 2010, which finds here a perfectly suited use, both vintage but techno. To see from every angle in Si-MOCs flickr gallery.

Obviously, the Joker also had to have a device allowing him to move in the air above Gotham City. Crazy at will, symbol of the narcissism of the Joker with its own portrait appearing on the surface of the ball, and brilliantly designed, this MOC also respects the codes of the Batman universe in Tim Burton sauce: Retro-futuristic but not too much with its cabin reminiscent of the first airships.

In short, these two achievements brightened my day, I hope it will be the same for you ...

Battle of Endor by markus1984

A nice diorama to start the day with this successful recreation of the bunker scene on Endor by markus1984.

We can salute here the effort to reconstitute the MOCeur which has been extensively documented to reproduce the scene and the bunker. The vegetation is also superbly integrated, and the AT-ST, scale of the scene is inspired by that of brick doctor.

To see more, visit markus1984's photo gallery on flickr, you will find many views of this diorama there. take a few minutes to take a look, you will find some good ideas and you will appreciate the precision with which the MOCeur wanted to reconstruct this emblematic scene of the Star Wars saga.

Eurobricks Astromech Workplace Contest

I rarely relay the competitions organized here and there, but this one is interesting on two points: The theme and the endowment.

The theme is simple: You have to propose a MOC representing the place in which an astromech droid can work, evolve, live, beep, etc ... such as a workshop, a ship, a kitchen, etc ... No size limit, only LEGO, no old recycled MOC, custom decals and minifigs are allowed.

The endowment is excellent, judge rather: the big winner will win a copy of the 10225 UCS R2-D2 set, the second a copy of the exclusive Chrome Silver TC-14 minifigure, the following (3rd and 4th) a Darth Vader keychain. Each winner (including the 5th) will also be offered a set of 13 astromech droids from the LEGO Star Wars range.

The contest runs from June 6 to August 6, 2012 at midnight.

Everything happens on the dedicated topic at Eurobricks.

Geonosian Execution Arena (Petranaki Arena) by ACPin

Another impressive diorama fromACPin with the arena ofEpisode II Attack of the Clones (Geonosian Execution Arena) presented here with the many creatures who amuse the audience and take care of the unfortunate people who are thrown to them ...

You will note in passing the ingenuity implemented by ACPin to furnish the sides of the arena with Geonosians made up of bricks and which from a distance are largely illusory.

As usual with ACPin, you can discover this MOC / Diorama from every angle on his website with plenty of shots and close-ups to capture every detail of the scene.

Superman - Man of Steel

I'm not the one saying it, but Variety which advertises on its site that Warner Bros. has signed a contract with various brands including LEGO to distribute products derived from the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel

We can therefore legitimately expect a few sets recreating situations from Zack Snyder's next blockbuster, which is scheduled for release in summer 2013.

The commercial agreement between LEGO and DC (Warner) / Marvel (Disney) spanning several years, it's a safe bet that each new film based on one of these licenses will be declined in the form of a LEGO set, at least. as long as sales follow. I don't have too many concerns about this, the American market being fond of these superhero films, evidenced by the incredible success of The Avengers.

Let's face it, LEGO's decisions will not be influenced by sales in Europe, at least as far as this range is concerned. As long as Americans consume all kinds of superheroes, LEGO will sell them plastic.
