Artifex offers us other reviews in pictures of the new LEGO Super Heroes, while waiting for them to be available from us and it's starting to be long ...

The undeniable advantage of these reviews lies in the fact that in less than 3 minutes, you have toured the set, its minifigs, its assembly and its features. For the rest, you are free to form an opinion on the quality of the whole in full knowledge of the facts.

As I said previously, I'm a little jaded by Anglo-Saxon reviews, where everything is decidedly  awesome, gorgeous, brilliant and so on ... I also want to discover the set in pictures and the minifigs in detail without being entitled to the checkered tablecloth in the kitchen or the carpet in the living room of the guy doing the review ...

I remind you that this set was initially displayed by Amazon.fr at 83.00 € before the price was withdrawn and the set indicated as unavailable.

Leia Organa as Boushh by Omar Ovalle

This little MOC ofOmar Ovalle comes in handy in this period of leaks concerning the sets of the second wave Star Wars 2012.

Small parenthesis for all those who wonder who Boushh is: This is a Bounty Hunter, who died after many adventures that it would take too long to detail here, and whose equipment was used by Leia during several infiltration missions, particularly on Coruscant and in Jabba Palace.

Omar Ovalle has done here what LEGO can do best: put interesting minifigs with a piece of wall. We therefore find a custom minifig of Leia, Han Solo and its Carbonite version, and the famous wall, all offered with a nice box.

Omar Ovalle will agree with me, it's not its best MOC, but I find it interesting if you put it in perspective with what LEGO usually offers us. Personally, at 14.90 €, I would happily buy this mini set ...

Star Wars ™: The Old Republic Collector's Edition

I have been talking to you about Star Wars The Old Republic, the MMORPG or massively multiplayer online role-playing game, which officially launched on December 20.

You will have to get started, to better understand this universe, its characters and its ships, two of which will be offered by LEGO in the second wave 2012 with the following two sets: 9500 Fury Class Interceptor et 9497 Republic Striker Starfighter.

This type of game, extremely time-consuming, deserves that we look at it a little. He is developing a particular universe which will not please all Star Wars fans, but which will have an obvious influence on derivative products and probably also on future comics or books relating to the Extended Universe.

Note that the game is increasingly cited using its acronym SWTOR. So you'll also see it on Hoth Bricks.

Two editions are offered for sale:

Star Wars: The Old Republic Standard Edition (45.00 €)

Star Wars: The Old Republic Collector's Edition (129.90 €)

The Limited Collector's Edition includes in addition to the game:
An exclusive 23.5 cm statuette of Dark Malgus, produced by Gentle Giant
Master Gnost-Dural's diary annotated by Satele Chan
The galaxy map. Dimensions 35.5 x 50.8 cm
A secure authentication keychain
A CD of the Star Wars: The Old Republic soundtrack

7958 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar

It is with a little delay that I offer you these visuals of the contents of the last 3 boxes of the LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar.

We start with the Tie Defender Pilot below (sw268), nice minifigure in my opinion, already seen in the set 8087 Tie Defender released in 2010 and from the Extended Universe. I finally see it as a nod to the 2012 range which will include sets based on video games. Star Wars The Old Republic... A good surprise that this minifig well screen printed and that not everyone has already 50 times in their collection.

We continue with a Tie Fighter which is more of a joke than anything else. Difficult to do more conceptual than this assembly of a few parts. Some will say that the result is effective: we recognize this vessel immediately. I agree with that, of course. But we shouldn't be taken for fools either. This Advent Calendar is not free, we are entitled to expect a minimum of it and there, with my microscopic Tie Fighter, I have the unpleasant feeling that I am being laughed at .... At worst , LEGO could have put enough to build several, just to get a mini fleet and to give a little density to this box ....

Finally, we end with another mini-micro-ship that borders on correctional with this monochrome Millennium Falcon that could have been about correct if LEGO had split a dish screen printed on the top. I don't mind being told about technical, financial, margin, profitability constraints, etc. But we must not exaggerate either. How can you hope to convince a kid that LEGO is better than Kre-O or Playmobil with this type of assembly?

So, I summarize: I keep my Kinder advent calendar with its good chocolate and I quickly move on. Next year, the Star Wars Advent Calendar will end up in the back of the closet, I probably wouldn't bother to open the boxes and the bags. Except maybe the last box to see this Darth Maul all dressed in red.

Once again, this LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar could have been of real interest if all of the parts provided had ultimately made it possible to build a larger machine. that would have given it meaning, and would have excused the micro things that we must be satisfied with, for lack of anything better ...
