All collectors of LEGO Star Wars sets will tell you, we are close to overdosing with all the droids that LEGO provides us and comes in all the sauces: Battle Droid Pilot, Battle Droid Security, Battle Droid Commander, Rocket Battle Droid, and obviously Battle Droid at all...
For this 11th box of the Advent Calendar, LEGO brings us the Battle Droid Pilot from the set 7929 The Battle of Naboo released in 2011 (19 € at Amazon) and which for the price allows you to get 8 Battle droids, 2 Battle Droids Pilots And two Gungans including Jar Jar Binks.
I'm disappointed, LEGO could have at least winked at collectors with a red-clad Battle Christmas Droid ...
You know my aversion to bad reviews, I don't hide it. What I expect from a review is not so much the often subjective opinion of the person who makes this presentation of a set from all angles or a string of notes each more stupid than the other, that a presentation in order of the contents of this set.
Finally, I tell myself that I prefer more and more the reviews of a new style that abound on Youtube: The reviews in pictures, without comments or unnecessary blah on the second page of the instruction booklet or on the beauty Le Corbusienne of the edge of the box.
artist, best known for its successful MOCs but sold at a high price, offers us here two excellent quality video reviews of the sets 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City et 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase.
The background music is annoying, but you can mute the sound and enjoy these superb photos expertly put on video so as not to miss any of the new releases to come and get an idea of the content of these sets which promise to be simply exceptional.
Like me, you are no doubt harassed right now by the various vendors who are shamelessly ringing your doorbell at any time of the day to sell you their ugly 2012 calendars.
Firemen, garbage collectors, postman, and so on, they are all there.
But you can also treat yourself to a LEGO calendar for 2012 among those currently on sale. I offer you three here, which should be suitable for all LEGO fans, young and old. And it will always be better than a few kittens in a basket or a fire engine on your bedroom wall ....
Le LEGO 2012 Official Calendar (visual above) is sold between 9 and 12 € on Amazon. Each month highlights a theme from the range and a nice City poster is offered. The dimensions are 30 x 30 cm.
You can also buy the one from the publisher Workman Publishing Inc., LEGO 2012: The Calendar sold approximately € 11 on Amazon, which presents on 28 pages superb visuals of the most striking sets of the range and offers a competition about which you will find more details at this address.
Finally, if you are a fan of Star Wars and the most classic sets in the range, you can treat yourself to this soberly titled 2012 calendar LEGO Star Wars Brochure XL Heye editions for about 15 €. Nothing very original with this 45 x 30 cm calendar but each month is illustrated with a very classic set as we like them .... Something to delight nostalgic fans anti clone wars...
He does not hide it, his MOC is largely inspired by the creation of ZetoVince that I presented to you in this article and which you can admire in more detail in his flickr gallery.
The goal for Tiler was to find enough space on this MOC to fit a minifigure inside. The chassis has been completely revisited and modified to articulate around the minifig and the cockpit.
ZetoVince had set the bar very high with his Tumbler, and Tiler has just raised the bar again with this modified and improved version.

White Witch? This name means nothing to you ? And for good reason, you may have never even heard of the animated series. Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO.
Released in the years 1985/1986, this cartoon whose events took place between Episode III (Revenge of the Sith) and Episode IV (To New Hope) recounted the adventures of the two droids on different planets. A DVD version was released in 2004/2005 which you can get (in English) here:
Star Wars Animated Adventures - Droids (from 12 to 20 €)
It is in this animated series that this C / L-82 Landspeeder appeared modified by its two owners, Thall Joben and Jord Dusat, to participate in the Boonta Speeder Race. This speeder was missing a droid, so R2-D2 was called upon.
Toy maker Kenner Toys has developed a range of Action Figures based on this series, and a model of this White witch had even been presented as a prototype. It was never marketed by Kenner, probably because of the general lack of interest in this cartoon which will not have marked the spirits, even among the most fundamentalist fans.
HJR was therefore inspired by the rare visuals available to reproduce this Landspeeder and his MOC is very successful. It is faithful to the version of Kenner and can accommodate the two minifigs of Thall Joben and Jord Dusat. R2-D2 also has a dedicated slot.
To see more about this MOC, go to HJR's flickr gallery.
