It is Variety who announced it in an article published on November 11, 2011: Warner Bros plans to launch a film mixing plastic bricks, minifigs and very real actors for 2014.
This is the company Animal Logic (Happy Feet) who would be in charge of the visual effects of the film, and the funding for the project is underway.
According to Variety, the project has been in the works since 2008, when Warner Bros. started to think with LEGO about a family comedy project. Screenwriters Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman will be on hand, as will producers Dan Lin (Lin Pictures) and Roy Lee (Vertigo Entertainment). Director Chris McKay (Robot Chicken) could also be on the project alongside Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs).
No details are circulating about the content of the film, except that it should mix real actors and digital animation. Casting is expected to begin in January 2012. And so much can happen between now and 2014 that it's best to avoid speculating.
One thing is certain, the partnership between LEGO and Warner Bros. should bring the LEGO universe even more to the big and small screen in the years to come.
He hesitates, he doubts, he doesn't know what to do anymore .... Help Legomaniac to choose which vehicle he must present in the competition wheels of justice on FBTB.
For me, the choice is quickly made, model 2, slightly modified version of the model I was telling you about here is the one who must win this contest. Its retro-futuristic aspect makes it much more attractive than the slightly too Hot Wheels Model 1 for my taste.
Meeting on LEGOmaniac flickr gallery and vote for your favorite model (So 2) ....
Do you still have time today? It is raining ? So here's who to take care of a bit.
Below are 5 bonus models to build from sets from the 2011 range.
Click on the visuals below to download the instructions in pdf format. They're hosted directly at Hoth Bricks, so you'll be sure to find them later, even if LEGO removes them from its server.
We start with the Jedi Transportation, rather simplistic, that you can build with the parts of the set 7931 Jedi T-6 Shuttle.
We continue with a more interesting model: The Bounty Hunter Assault Skimmer, which you can assemble with the parts of the set 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship.
Now here is the Rebel Medical Transport, based on the set 7879 Hoth Echo Base, which deserves that we do something other than the base informs that it represents ...
You can build this Republic Rapid Assault Vehicle by combining the parts of the sets 7931 Jedi T-6 Shuttle et 7915 Imperial V-Wing Starfighter. Okay, I'll grant you, the end result is still very average, but this bonus model can give you some ideas for your future MOCs if you lack inspiration.
And we end with this bonus model based on the parts of the set 7915 Imperial V-Wing Starfighter. A nice, simple little ship that the little ones can assemble in a few minutes.
As you will have understood, these are not very elaborate alternative models here, but rather small machines, pretexts to bring out your sets and spend a few minutes creating something else with them.
Good Sunday !
Well, the title is undoubtedly a bit touting, and we only see a few seconds the X-Wing of the 2012 set 9493 X-Wing Starfighter.
But this LEGO Build Together video is constructed well enough that I urge you to waste 30 seconds of your day.
Here are close-up photos of three minifigs that we will be entitled to in 2012. To find out where they come from, read this article on Brick Heroes.
This minifig of C-3PO will be available in the set 9490 Droid Escape. The screen printing is really successful, and C-3PO is everything in visible cables after landing the escape pod on Tatooine.
Here is the Geonosian Zombie, and the Geonosian Warrior that will be delivered in the set 9491 Geonosian Cannon. Once again, the silkscreen is exceptional, These two minifigs are superb and they will take the pill out of the wacky cannon of this set.
Note that the Warrior is not new, we already had it in 2011 in the set 7959 Geonosian Starfighter.
