22/12/2021 - 21:42 Lego news New LEGO 2022 Rumors

horizon zero down tallneck

Everything starts from a LEGO product listed on the website of the German brand Wagners24 whose title is unambiguous: LEGO would have in its boxes a product based on the video game Horizon Zero Dawn bearing the reference 76989 Horizon Zero Dawn Tallneck. It is in any case under this name that the reference 76989 is presented on the website of the brand in question, with availability announced for May 1, 2022.

The latest rumors to date evoke the possibility of a LEGO range entirely dedicated to the world of video games, within which we would therefore find in 2022 at least the confirmed Overwatch 2 reference. 76980 titanium and possibly this second set which would be based on a successful video game including the second part, Horizon Forbidden Forest, will be available in spring 2022.

The name of the product leaves no room for doubt, it will be a question of assembling a Tallneck (Large-neck in French), these robotic creatures that allow you to obtain a map of the area in which they evolve. It is not known if the main character of the game, Aloy, will be delivered in the box.

A search on the product's EAN (5702017156491) allows you to find other resellers who have already listed this product but without the precise title posted by the German brand. the dealers in question are content for the moment with a provisional title in the form "Gaming IP - tbd-Gaming-IP-18 + -2022"which tells us at least that the set will be a reference stamped 18+.

We will have to wait for a possible leak or an official announcement to be sure.

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Marvel set 76195 Spider-Man's Drone Duel, a small box of 198 pieces which according to LEGO allows us to "... celebrate the release of the Marvel Studios film Spider-Man: No Way Home ...The formula is a bit pretentious, this product is actually very loosely based on the movie. Spider-Man: Homecoming released in 2017. Very loosely.

Here we are witnessing the clash between Adrian Toomes aka Vulture, equipped with his imposing mechanical gear, and Spider-Man who is at the controls of his Spider-Drone. Why not. The set has at least the merit of offering something to have fun for 20 € with a fight a priori balanced, this is not often the case in this price range and it is important to underline it.

The black drone in the colors of Spider-Man is rather well imagined on the part of the designers. It takes the form of a flying spider without distorting what makes the specificity of a drone as we know the concept for the moment, its four propellers. The four arms at the end of which the propellers are installed cannot be folded down or adjustable, so the drone cannot be "stowed" away. More than a drone, it is in fact a flying machine that Spider-Man can also pilot in addition to controlling it from a distance thanks to the gray "remote control" supplied. For once LEGO offers us something other than a Spider-Moto, a Spider-Buggy or a Spider-Mechanical Spider, we're not going to be too choosy.

The drone is also perfectly matched to Spider-Man's outfit with his black dress and some golden pieces, it's totally fitting. The assembly of the set is a bit of a model when it comes to sticking the many stickers provided: there are 19 stickers for 40 assembly steps and it is at this price that the drone benefits from some mechanical details and that Vulture, for its part, has visually accomplished paraphernalia.

The head of the flying spider opens to install Spider-Man at the controls and the abdomen rises to leave access to the trunk installed at the back in which the remote control of the machine can be stored. Of them Stud Shooters  of what can now be called "old generation" are installed on the cabin, it is enough to try to target Vulture who is also armed with a manual version of this coin launcher.

Vulture is here well equipped with a pair of mechanical wings that know how to get noticed without drowning the minifig under a slew of parts. The character remains prominently in the center of the assembly with the added bonus of being able to orient the two wings and their extensions. We could discuss the somewhat hazardous integration of the two turbines which frankly protrude from the wings here, but we will have to deal with this solution which is undoubtedly for the moment the best ever offered by LEGO on this file.

We're not going to complain about getting two very successful minifigs for less than 20 €, knowing that this new version of Vulture is in my opinion much more faithful to the outfit seen on the screen than that of the set 76083 Beware The Vulture released in 2017 on the occasion of the film's release. I prefer this contrasting torso / leg combination which stands out frankly against the green color of the wings and which really highlights the character. The visor with cutout for the nose attached to the usual sports helmet produces a very nice effect and the pilot mask perfectly polishes the look of this minifigure. Under the helmet, the character has two very successful faces.

The version of Spider-Man that comes in this box is the only thing that really hooks this set to the movie. No way home. It fits perfectly with the solution used by Peter Parker to hide stains that do not go away. It is very well executed and we find the printed circuits circulating on the outfit under the golden lines. The outfit briefly seen on the screen will undoubtedly remain anecdotal but we will not blame LEGO for making the effort to offer us something other than the blue and red combination of all kinds and any variant is good to take.

The sets in the LEGO Marvel range are often criticized for forcing us to construct without any real flavor in order to be able to add some pretty minifigs to our collections. I think this is not the case here, this drone out of nowhere contributes to the playability of the product, it is aesthetically very successful and it changes us a bit from the usual Spider-gear. All children today know what a drone is, they will find here a cross between the machine and a spider that should please them. Collectors of minifigures should not be disappointed for their part, the two figures being in my opinion successful and fitting with the films from which they are inspired. For 20 €, it's pretty good.

lego ninjago 71760 jay thunder dragon 71762 kai fire dragon 16 1

Today we quickly make the rounds of two novelties expected from January 1, 2022 on the official online store: the LEGO Ninjago sets 71760 Jay's Thunder Dragon EVO (140 pieces - 19.99 €) and 71762 Kai's Fire Dragon EVO (204 pieces - 29.99 €). I offer you a grouped presentation of these two small boxes, I think that the comparison between the content of these two products positioned in different price brackets is more interesting than an individual pitch.

The subject is the same for both sets: a young ninja, his dragon and an opposition in the form of one or two villains possibly accompanied by some accessories. The result is final, you will obviously only get your money's worth and there is no question for LEGO to go cannibalize the upper price bracket.

The more expensive dragon of the two, the one in the set 71762 Kai's Fire Dragon EVO is logically the one who benefits from a higher level of finish. It's already the fair Ball Seals and the gray clips but the creature does quite well with a very correct overall look if we take into account the reduced inventory of the product.

The pretty plastic wings are lined to give the dragon wingspan, the legs are dressed in decorative elements that somewhat hide the very simplistic structure and we can conclude that for about thirty euros it is very honest. The angle of the legs is here provided by a new piece that will also delight the most simplistic mechs and products intended for very young audiences in 2022, it's a somewhat lazy shortcut but the piece in question should awaken the crowd. interest of MOCeurs who will undoubtedly find some use in it.

LEGO adds a flying platform which seems very inspired by the Monkie Kid range and which is equipped with a Stud Shooter a new generation serving the two villains delivered in the box, this product even has the luxury of offering a little playability right out of the box.

The cheaper dragon of the two, the one in the set 71760 Jay's Thunder Dragon EVO is logically less detailed even if it also makes use of a few decorative elements which somewhat mask the aesthetic shortcuts imposed by the price positioning of the product. The mobility of the creature remains relatively correct thanks to the Ball Seals legs, but the general finish is not the best barrel with a glaring economy on the golden elements that could have given a little presence to the dragon.

The big, slender lizard has to be content with a single pair of molded wings that barely give it the look of a dragon, it's a shame. Two more wings and the overall aesthetic was almost acceptable. For about twenty euros, it is also necessary to be satisfied with two minifigs instead of three in the other set and the villain must here do without the Stud Shooter which would have allowed him to shoot the creature.

The head of the two dragons is made up of two molded parts linked together by simple double gray clips. mobility is maximum but the rendering is a bit messy. Coherence between the two creatures is however essential with matching pad prints and a similar format for the two heads. Young collectors will therefore be able to line up the dragons on a shelf and obtain a beautiful collection effect.

lego ninjago 71760 jay thunder dragon 71762 kai fire dragon 22

lego ninjago 71760 jay thunder dragon 71762 kai fire dragon 25

The minifig endowment of each of these boxes is proportional to their public price: two for the set 71760 Jay's Thunder Dragon EVO and three for the set 71762 Kai's Fire Dragon EVO. Each of the two young ninjas comes with a collectible banner, there are eight in all to collect to sleep better at night. As I said before, I find these small aesthetic elements very attractive, they really deserve to be exhibited together, for example on the wall of a dojo.

We will appreciate or not the outfits of the ninjas offered in this "timeless" range which is not linked to any arc in the series, I find the outfits rather well done with a nicely executed kimono whose flaps go down to the legs of the characters. Each of the two young ninjas comes with his signature hair and an additional mask, this is appreciable and this is not the case with all the boxes, some of which are more expensive.

lego ninjago 71760 jay thunder dragon 71762 kai fire dragon 27

lego ninjago 71760 jay thunder dragon 71762 kai fire dragon 28

In short, there is no miracle, each of these two products is sized to remain wisely in its price box thanks to more or less acceptable compromises and not to devalue the more expensive sets. The general appearance of the two dragons is quite correct if we take into account the inventory and the price of each of these two boxes, it is necessary for all budgets and all piggy banks.

Lloyd therefore remains the one who will be entitled to the most detailed dragon in 2022, with that of the set 71766 Lloyd's Legendary Dragon (747 pieces - 49.99 €), but these two less ambitious creatures at least have the merit of not using any sticker and being equipped with plastic wings. You can't have everything at the same time and in the same box at LEGO, it's well known.
