lego ideas first 2021 revbiew phase results

LEGO just announced the result of the first LEGO Ideas evaluation phase of the year 2021, with a batch which brought together 57 more or less successful ideas but which had all been able to gather the 10.000 supports necessary for their passage to the review stage.

Two projects are definitively validated: Jazz Quartet by Hsinwei Chi and The Office by Lego The Office. Personally, I am delighted to see the latter being selected and LEGO confirms that the pressure put by the fans, with several projects reaching 10.000 supporters, has paid off. Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs by Hanwasyellowfirst remains under evaluation, a decision will be taken in early 2022.

Everything else goes straight by the wayside, for various and varied reasons which are not officially communicated by LEGO, the manufacturer being satisfied to specify that it can produce and market only a limited number of products in the range LEGO Ideas. and that the quantity of ideas validated during each review phase is therefore not proportional to the number of proposals in the running.

If you have time to spare, you can always try to guess who will be the winner of the next review phase, the results of which will be revealed in early 2022.

34 projects are in the running, there are a few more or less interesting ideas, but the vast majority of those who have succeeded in qualifying their project will undoubtedly have to be satisfied with the "consolation" endowment consisting of LEGO products of total value. $ 500 offered to anyone who reaches 10.000 supporters.

lego starwars magazine october 2021 clone turbo tank

The October 2021 issue of the official LEGO Star Wars magazine is available on newsstands and, as planned, allows us to obtain a 57-piece Clone Turbo Tank.

If you want to assemble this device which seems to me rather successful on this scale without having to buy this magazine for children, the official instructions accompanied by the inventory, all in PDF format, are available. at this address.

The next issue of the magazine is expected on newsstands on November 8, 2021 and the build provided will be a 45-piece A-wing. This is an ultra-simplified version of the ship also seen in the set. 75248 Resistance A-Wing Starfighter (269 pieces - € 29.99) marketed in 2019, not enough to spend € 5.99.

Note that it is now possible to subscribe for a period of six months or one year to the official LEGO Star Wars magazine via the abo-online.fr platform. The 12-month subscription (13 issues) costs 65 €. The logistical concerns encountered by the publisher during the launch of this subscription offer are now resolved and the magazines are delivered on time.

lego marvel avengers magazine october 2021 iron spider

Remember, last august, the publisher of the official LEGO Marvel Avengers magazine did not communicate on the minifig that would be delivered with the October 2021 issue. It is the third cover of the new issue of the LEGO Star Wars magazine which reveals the character that will accompany the new issue of the magazine from October 20: it's about Iron Spider.

This minifigure is not new, it is delivered with the same back accessory in the set 76175 Attack on the Spider Lair available since March 1st at the public price of 84.99 €. The same figure with other claws is also available in the set 76151 Venomosaurus Ambush (79.99 €) since 2020. The purchase of this new issue of the magazine will therefore perhaps be interesting for those who do not want this character to bother with parts and other figurines delivered in these boxes.

lego adidas nba collab

The collaboration between LEGO and Adidas continues actively with the announcement of a new wave of basketball-themed products scheduled for October 19, according to the above teaser posted by the manufacturer.

Adidas for its part already sold the wick a little about this new collaboration via the version of his online store which serves the Philippine market: we have some visuals of t-shirts featuring several NBA players, James Harden, Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young, in minifig format. The published teaser lets imagine that sneakers will also be in the game.

I see some who already imagine being able to afford one day the real minifigs present on these t-shirts, but for the moment nothing is going in the direction of a future commercialization of these figurines.

76239 lego dc comics batman batmobile tumbler scarecrow showdown 1

Today we quickly tour the other Tumbler of the moment: the one from the LEGO DC set 76239 Batman Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown, a box of 422 pieces sold at the public price of 39.99 € which allows to assemble a slightly less ambitious version of the vehicle than that of the set 76240 Batman Batmobile Tumbler (2049 pieces - 229.99 €) that I told you about a few days ago.

The idea is no longer to assemble an ultra-detailed model of the machine, it is a children's toy inspired by the film Batman Begins which must be at the same time as faithful as possible to the reference vehicle without neglecting the solidity and the playability of the product. And the bet seems to me successful on all points with a rather detailed Tumbler whose body parts do not remain in our hands when we handle it.

The scale of this model also makes the Tumbler visually almost more "readable" than that of the set in my opinion. 76240 Batman Batmobile Tumbler. Some details logically go by the wayside but it is ultimately a good thing, the designer retaining only the essential attributes of the vehicle, without being able to do too much. The alternation between smooth surface and visible tenons is also more balanced here, the tenons which remain visible on the roof and the two rear fins do not shock. The side studs that line the glazing might be a bit thick with their ingots, but they drown out enough of the overall design that they don't stand out too much.

The internal design of the vehicle is well thought out, it is based on a very solid structure reinforced by Technic beams which allows it to guarantee the rigidity necessary to pass into the hands of the youngest. All the sub-assemblies which then take place around this central bucket are securely fixed to at least two clips with the exception of the uprights which frame the windows of the vehicle and the two rear fins.

The choice of tires used here seems consistent to me, we keep a size ratio faithful to the reference machine and the chosen tread is acceptable in both cases. No direction or suspensions, we are talking about a toy at 40 € which is satisfied with the minimum.

The cockpit is detailed enough not to have the impression that the designer has overlooked this space capable of accommodating two minifigs. Batman can sit at the controls with his mask on his head and the vehicle's roof closes without forcing. The two Stud Shooters placed in the front do not disfigure this Tumbler, you can always remove them if the functionality seems superfluous to you. Seven stickers are needed to refine the aesthetics of the vehicle a little, two of these stickers embodying the control screens in the cockpit and the rest of the board used to dress the bodywork.

The two minifigs delivered in this box are generally successful. On the one hand Batman in a version a little less detailed than that of the set 76240 Batman Batmobile Tumbler and on the other a completely new version of the Scarecrow.

Batman is not entitled to a pair of pad-printed legs, this is the usual price to pay for a box sold for around forty euros. LEGO, on the other hand, provides us with an alternative head for the character, an element that reproduces the vision of Scarecrow when the latter becomes intoxicated with his own gas in Batman Begins. Why not. Batman's torso is consistent with the movie version, with this outfit being less sculpted than the one in the following flaps.

Scarecrow is rather faithful to the version seen on the screen even if we do not really find the shapeless mask worn by the character, LEGO is content here to padprint a classic head. A dedicated accessory would have been welcome, as it is, we have the impression of having in the hands of a guy who simply badly digested his oysters. Neutral legs for him too, it's union fare, but the torso is nicely done even if the fringe of the mask that extends over the collar is not quite the same color as the shade of the head. Blue tie, rope around the neck, flesh-colored hands, the rest is totally in line with the character of the film.

You want a credible Tumbler but you don't want to spend 230 € to buy yourself the big model of the set 76240 Batman Batmobile Tumbler ? This little box is made for you, no doubt about it.

The vehicle is really successful and it returns without difficulty the versions of the sets 7888 The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise (2008) et 76001 The Bat vs. Bane: Tumbler Chase (2013) to the rank of simple, somewhat sloppy toys. The aesthetics are there, the machine is immediately recognizable and it benefits from a sufficient level of detail to finish its career on a shelf alongside for example the Batmobiles of the sets 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile et 40433 1989 Batmobile Limited Edition.

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at 27th October, 2021 next at 23pm.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
