Remember, a few weeks ago, we discovered the existence of four small thematic packs of parts and other accessories about which we did not know much.
We learn today that they will be offered exclusively in the United Kingdom via a test phase which should last between 6 and 8 months and which will allow the lucky ones to obtain codes to use on the official store so that these packs are automatically added to their order.
Every two months, two unique codes will be sent to affected customers and they will be able to use these two codes on future orders. The proposed theme will change every two months and it is the LEGO pack 40512 Fun and Funky VIP Add-on Pack which will open the ball.
The participants in this test phase were randomly selected and this operation may be generalized if it proves conclusive. There is therefore no point in rushing to eBay to buy back these bags of coins from members of the VIP program who have used their codes, at least wait to find out if the initiative will arrive in France.
The LEGO CITY and Friends Advent calendars in version 2021 are now listed on the official online store with availability announced for September 1st. If you don't want to spoil the contents of these two boxes too much, take a good look at the visuals today, you will have forgotten what they contain by the first day of unboxing anyway.
|
In the CITY version of the calendar box: the usual mini-things to assemble with a handful of minifigures from the LEGO City Adventures TV series: Tom Top Hat, Bob the Fireman, Betty as an ice hockey player, the Police Officer Sam Grizzled, City Clerk Shirley Keeper, Fendrich dressed as Santa Claus and Duke DeTain in a snowman version.
Behind the 24 boxes of the LEGO Friends version: a large handful of more or less interesting mini-things to assemble and try to guess for some what they represent, five micro-dolls representing Andréa, Emma, Mia, Olivia and Stéphanie , a kitten and a puppy.
This year we will therefore have the choice between five different LEGO Advent calendars, these two references joining the three licensed products already announced:
|
The information comes from the declarations of conformity of the products issued by LEGO which are freely available via the manufacturer's website: several new references which are obviously variants of existing products are formalized, among which the sets 77941 Mighty Dinosaurs et 77942 Fiat 500.
You will obviously have recognized the sets 10271 Fiat 500 (2020) et 31058 Mighty Dinosaurs (2017) with the only difference being a change of dominant color on the vehicle on one side and on the animal and its variants on the other. The inventory of the blue Fiat 500 remains a priori identical to that of the 2020 version with 960 parts.
These two boxes and some others with a similar reference are also already referenced in the pages that allow you to retrieve the instruction files of LEGO products in PDF format:
We do not really know when, how and for how much it will be possible to afford these variations of existing products, it could possibly be limited edition sets intended to be offered for example as VIP rewards.
LEGO has not yet officially communicated on these products, we will have to wait until the manufacturer decides to do so to be clear about it and find out how it will be possible to add a blue Fiat 500 on our shelves.
The LEGO promotional set 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute makes an appearance again after being offered by LEGO from 100 € of purchase last March: it is now available for 1500 points on the VIP rewards center.
To obtain the code that allows you to add this product valued by LEGO at 19.99 € to your order, you must identify yourself on the VIP rewards center, redeem the 1500 points requested (10 € in exchange) and then enter the code provided to you in the field provided for this purpose when confirming your order.
LEGO having taken the trouble to send a copy to the entire blogosphere, we are now quickly touring the LEGO Marvel polybag 30454 Shang-Chi and The Great Protector which is currently automatically added to the basket from € 40 of purchase in products from the LEGO Marvel range. The offer should in principle last until August 15, but it has already been stopped across the Atlantic ...
In the bag of 55 pieces valued by LEGO at 3.99 €, enough to assemble the Great Protector with its base which gives it foolproof stability and the Shang-Chi minifigure available since today in the sets 76176 Escape From The Ten Rings (29.99 €) and 76177 Battle at the Ancient Village (39.99 €). The character's outfit is relatively minimalist with neutral legs and a red torso with a single color pad printed to represent the tunic's designs, but the ensemble is very faithful to the outfit featured on the movie posters.
For those wondering, the dragon stand is a relatively common piece available since the start of the year in multiple sets. The element also available in orange and pink is very practical for displaying minifigs while ensuring maximum stability. Here, it allows to put the dragon in scene without letting it rest on its legs.
This promotional polybag does not therefore provide an exclusive figurine but it is a nice derivative product that still offers a few minutes of construction with a very well articulated water dragon thanks to several Ball Seals and rather convincing on this scale. Only the creature's head cannot be oriented laterally, the clip used only authorizing vertical movements.
Finding out how to spend 40 € on products from the LEGO Marvel range will not be very complicated when you know the prices charged by LEGO. It's up to you to see if you have to pay for one or two sets at full price on the official store or in the LEGO Store to get this bag or if it is better to wait until these boxes are at a knockdown price elsewhere than at LEGO and buy the bag. separately on the secondary market.
Note: The polybag shown here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at August 15, 2021 next at 23pm. For newcomers, know that you just need to post a comment to participate in the draw.
Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
