LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga 76193 The Guardians' Ship

Today we are very quickly interested in the LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga set 76193 The Guardians' Ship, a big box of 1901 pieces sold at the public price of 159.99 € since June 1 which allows to assemble a model of the Benatar and to obtain in the process a handful of characters.

There is no real need to compare the contents of this box with that of the set 76107 Thanos Ultimate Battle (674coins) marketed in 2018 at the public price of 84.99 €, it was then a simple toy for children and today LEGO offers another approach with a much more detailed but also a little more fragile exhibition model of this ship .

The wingspan of this new interpretation of the Benatar goes from 46 to 59 cm for the occasion and the 1200 pieces of difference between the two products are clearly visible both in the finish of the model and in the consistency of certain elements that were more symbolic than anything else on the 2018 version.

The assembly of this model is generally quite pleasant, with a first phase which consists in building the body of the ship and integrating some funny details such as a coffee machine for example. The central structure is rather heavy, as if weighted to better support the wings and the various external appendages.

The techniques used for the thickest part of the fenders are interesting with a nicely integrated leading edge. The extensions are based on superposition of plates, nothing very complicated at this level. Access to the interior space will subsequently remain possible via the removal of the two upper shell elements and the opening of the front bubble.

Under the Benatar, it is logically a little less detailed than on the visible part but the designer has nevertheless symbolized the two reactors with a superposition of discs, one of which is transparent and the other slightly opaque. This last Dish is the one delivered in the set 43183 Moana's Island Home where it served as a pond for fish.

The whole is a little fragile in places, it is advisable to seize the vessel by the central part and to avoid too much touching the wings which, even if they are firmly fixed to the body of the Benatar, are a little less resistant at the level of their extensions. The appendages located at the rear of the vessel are mounted on Ball Seals and can therefore be oriented as you see fit. It will only hold in place if you don't touch the model anymore, there is no sticking point in one position or another.

The number of stickers to stick on this model seems relatively reasonable to me: of the 14 stickers planned, 11 are used to decorate the cabin of the ship. It's up to you to see if these few aesthetic details are essential or if you prefer to save yourself the inevitable drying and unsticking of these stickers on your pretty exhibition model.

The canopy of the cockpit is pad printed and it is very successful. It is unique in this combination of graphic elements and color even if the part in question is used by LEGO in a large handful of boxes from the three copies of the LEGO Star Wars set 9499 Gungan Sub marketed in 2012. Watch out for scratches, the part is simply thrown into one of the bags and the copy I received is a little damaged, it will need to be replaced.

The ship is installed on a rather sober display whose upper support is rotatable. The solution used is interesting, it allows you to orient the Benatar as you wish and according to the space available on your shelves. I regret a little the absence of a frontal extension of this display allowing to install the six minifigs provided. You can still store them in the ship but they deserved to be enthroned in front of the Benatar. The model's stability is exemplary, there is no risk of it tipping over or accidentally unhooking from the support.

I see from here coming those who would also have liked to have the right to a small presentation plate decorated with a few facts on the ship. The vocation of the product's exhibition model being clearly stated, it would no doubt have been wise to go to the end of the concept and include this accessory which always pleases collectors.

The minifig endowment is pretty decent with five major characters and a generic guest who could undoubtedly have been replaced by another more interesting character.

The pad prints are all very successful and without any noticeable defect. Star-Lord's all-new minifig uses Owen Grady's face seen since 2018 in a large handful of sets from the Jurassic World range. It's fitting and this version of Chris Pratt seems successful to me.

Rocket Raccoon and Groot are both new and for the moment exclusive to this box. Mantis logically reuses the hairstyle and face seen in 2017 in the set 76079 Ravager Attack, all placed on a unique torso.

Thor's minifigure is identical to the one delivered in the set 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle and the Chitauri is not exclusive, it is also delivered in this form since June 1 in sets 76186 Black Panther Dragon Flyer et 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle.

This Benatar exhibition mockup seems detailed enough to me to send back the previous version to the somewhat crass toy status and this new model will quickly replace it on the shelves of those who can afford to spend the 160 € demanded by LEGO. I'm happy to see that LEGO is investing a bit to offer us successful and detailed ships in a range like this, it's not just Star Wars in life.

I am now awaiting the same treatment for the other Guardians of the Galaxy ship, the Milano, in order to replace the toys seen in the sets. 76021 The Milano Spaceship Rescue (2014) et 76081 The Milano vs. The Abilisk (2017)

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at 16th June 2021 next at 23pm. For newcomers, know that you just need to post a comment to participate in the draw.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.

Amazon is currently ruining a potential LEGO announcement effect of the Marvel set 76194 Tony Stark's Sakaarian Iron Man (369coins) by now offering this box for pre-order with availability announced for August 1st.

If some people wonder what the content of the set represents, know that it is inspired by the animated series in 10 episodes "What If...?"which will air on Disney + this summer. This spinoff series from the comic of the same name explores the consequences of events that would have happened differently. So we end up here with a Sakaarien Hulkbuster and three minifigs: Tony Stark, Valkyrie and Uatu The Guardian (The Watcher), the narrator of the series.
