TF1 - Reports

Come on, it's scheduled, so I can talk about it: Saturday, December 14 at 13:20 p.m., the Reportages on TF1 program presented by Claire Chazal will talk about the counterfeit of toys and your servant should make a (short) appearance to talk about the ease to get counterfeit LEGO products on the Internet and maybe even to compare real and fake LEGO sets.

I don't know exactly what remains in the final report of the 4 hours of rushes filmed this summer with the very nice journalist Elodie Ségalin. We compared the real TMNT minifigs and several copies bought at a night market in Hong Kong last June, the real Ninjago set 9441 Kai's Blade Cycle and a certified copy, box included, bought on the internet, with assembly sequence and comparison between the two models, in particular on the quality of the parts and the finish of the minifigs, and we had filmed a small sequence which explains how we can order in a few clicks of fake LEGO products on the internet.

Most of you are already very well informed on this subject, but don't forget that this report is aimed at the average consumer who may believe they are getting a good deal and end up with a poor quality or even dangerous counterfeit product. .

The shooting did not take place at home, but in the premises of my wife's company, invaded for the occasion by a few LEGO sets, just to respect the theme ...

LEGO Architecture: 21019 Eiffel Tower

What better place than the premises of the Parisian brand Le Bon Marché (24, rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris) to exclusively present the highly anticipated next LEGO Architecture set whose marketing is announced for January 2014: The Eiffel Tower (Reference LEGO 21019).

From November 1, a reproduction of more than 40.000 pieces of the Eiffel Tower from the set will be exhibited on site and the brand will have the exclusivity of the set as soon as it becomes available.

It will be possible to reserve this set of 321 pieces, sold for € 45 from November 1, with a preview sale from December 2 to 14 (See the Bon Marché brochure in pdf).

This is not the first time that Le Bon Marché has welcomed LEGO models: During the summer of 2011, an exhibition bringing together many sets from the LEGO Architecture range accompanied by large-format versions had already taken place in the premises of the department store.

This will probably be the first and only set in the Architecture range that I will afford.

Lego offices

It is now a habit, periodically LEGO invites a few visitors to discover its premises in Billund, Denmark. Following these organized visits, the web is teeming with clichés showing the side Ikea cool et google like, of these premises in which designers work dressed as if they were going to cover the La Redoute catalog.

It is the portal of Free which publishes this time a series of photos with slides, sofas, ultra-design spaces, etc ... in short, a nice communication stunt that allows LEGO to cultivate its side cool-hype-studious atmosphere-respect for employees, etc ....

On one of these shots, the slightly psycho-rigid AFOLs that we are can notice a few gear wisely aligned in a showcase judiciously highlighted by the photographer who is no doubt very inspired. We thus discover a bust of Watto (blue circle), a UT-AT (green circle) or Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport seen in theEpisode III Revenge of the Sith , a probe droid and a medical droid (white circle) as well as the now famous-but-never-marketed set Yavin IV (orange circle). Prototypes awaiting validation, failed tests of sets never marketed, products to come in the near future or not? Who knows....

The window in question is also full of pretty things that I let you discover by clicking on the image. To see the rest of the photo report, go to the Free portal or site dezeen.com.

brick expo diemoz 2015

Take note, the weekend of September 12 and 13, the little world of LEGO will meet in Diémoz (38) for an exhibition 100% devoted to the small brick which promises to be nice with many creations, animations, competitions, etc. .. To know everything about what to prepare, go on the facebook page of the exhibition.

Speaking of competitions, here is one that I offer in partnership with the organizers of the exhibition.

It is open to everyone, young and old, with three categories: Children under 8, children 8 to 14 and children over 14 and adults.

The mission : Imagine the vehicle from the year 3000. No constraints or limits. Be careful, it is obvious that the model must be made exclusively of LEGO bricks and that your vehicle must be a real creation. No "modification" of an existing set or obvious pumping of the creation of others.

To participate: You will need to bring your creation on Sunday September 13 before 11:00 a.m. at the exhibition site. All participating models will be exhibited and a jury will designate the winners of this competition, the motivating endowment of which can be found below:

Children under 8:

Children aged 8 to 14:

Children over 14 and adults:

The best creations will therefore be rewarded with a few beautiful boxes, but all participants will be rewarded.

You can now purchase tickets for this exhibition on the Ulule space provided for this purpose, with the possibility of subscribing to various rewards including the exclusive minifigure of the event's mascot: MOZ (on the right on the visual at the top of the article).

You have until August 25 to buy your tickets online, after this date you will have to take your troubles patiently on D-Day in the long queue under the Isère sun to hope to access the exhibition. You will not be able to say that you have not been warned ...

Note that tickets are also on presale at Cultura in Bourgoin-Jallieu as well as in certain local shops in Diémoz. More information on the event website at this address.

As this exhibition is now one of the must-see LEGO events, I'll be there all weekend, and it might be an opportunity to meet some of you. I will also have some Hoth Bricks minifigs to offer in my bag ...

Note: If you have any questions about the contest or the rest, feel free to ask them in the comments.
