From time to time, I ask myself a few existential questions. Today, without really knowing why, I thought about the LEGO Ideas project Voltron - Defender of the Universe which was finally validated and which will therefore be marketed in the coming months. For information, this project had gathered the 10.000 essential supports to take the next step in three weeks.
Between those who might confuse the thing with Grendizer and those who think they remember maybe one day having seen an episode of the original animated series, I'm curious to know who among you is really excited about this future set. .
I have no personal memories of the broadcast of this animated series, and yet I have a part of my youth watching children's shows from the 80s. The Internet is magical and so I read here and there that this series of 124 episodes was partially broadcast in France on Antenne 2 in 1988. No, really, that doesn't ring a bell.
The reboot of the series launched in 2016 on Netflix should logically support the sales of the set, even if the initial project seems obviously based on the original series, but I admit that I did not take the time to take a look at this umpteenth animated series. which features a handful of brave heroes piloting robot lions who assemble into a big robot to hit the bad guys harder.
So who are the Voltron fans here? Fans of the original series? Fans of the reboot on Netflix? Come forward, just to see if the license has support in our regions or if this future set will only be successful across the Atlantic.
As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't have been difficult for a LEGO version of Grendizer with the minifigs of Actarus, Alcor and Venusia. For Voltron, I pass.
I'm not bigoted, if you just like robot-based mega-bots, you can give your opinion as well.
