LEGO product recall: Risk of burns ...

LEGO recalls Power Functions remote controls sold separately under the reference 8879, but also sometimes sold as a bundle with set 10194 (Emerald Night) and or engine 8882 (XL Power Functions LEGO Motor).

This remote control may cause a risk of burns if the batteries inside overheat. Of the 997 copies sold between April 2009 and May 2009, 4 cases of overheating of the batteries were reported. No cases of burns were observed.

All customers who have purchased this remote control should immediately stop using this product and see the following link to check if it is part of the recall. These customers will also be contacted directly by LEGO Systems with all the information necessary to identify the problem and exchange the product.
