LEGO today presents its financial results for the 2022 financial year and the trend displayed during the publication of the first half interim results is definitively confirmed: all the indicators are once again positively green for the year as a whole, even if the progress recorded is a little less spectacular than in 2021, in accordance to group forecasts.
LEGO announces a "modest" increase of 17% in turnover and a sales volume up 12% in all markets where the brand is present, results to be compared with those of 2021 displayed respectively at 27% and 22%.
The operating result recorded an increase of 5% and the net profit showed an increase of 4%, much lower percentages than last year with respectively 32% and 34% for each of these parameters.
The manufacturer lists as usual the ranges that ensure the best sales in 2022 with five universes: LEGO City, LEGO Technic, LEGO ICONS, LEGO Harry Potter and LEGO Star Wars.
155 new official stores were installed in 2022, bringing to 904 the number of LEGO Stores currently established around the world. In line with its ambitions, LEGO continued to renew its assortment in 2022 with 48% of the catalog made up of new products. For the rest, the group is pleased as every year with its diverse and varied investments, particularly in terms of sustainability, environmental protection and altruistic initiatives with large donations via the LEGO Foundation. For 2023, LEGO is not taking any risks and is simply forecasting modest single-digit growth.
