30443 lego marvel spider man bridge battle polybag 2022 14

Today we take a quick tour of the LEGO Marvel polybag 30443 Spider-Man Bridge Battle, a small bag of 45 pieces that allows you to assemble a Mysterio drone and obtain a Spider-Man minifigure along the way. Don't be swayed by the listing No way home on the bag, LEGO specifies elsewhere on the packaging that this product is in fact inspired by the film Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Nothing exclusive in this polybag, the figurine in "Upgraded Suit" is the one also currently delivered in the set 76184 Spider-Man vs. Mysterio's Drone Attack (19.99 €). The character's head is also used on the figure in the set 76185 Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop and Zombie Hunter Spidey from the Marvel Studios Collectible Character Series (ref. Lego 71031).

The drone to be assembled is ultimately only a variant of the one seen last year in two copies in the set 76174 Spider-Man's Monster Truck vs. Mysterio : the machine is here equipped with the new Stud Shooters more angular which in my opinion contribute here to give a more "techno" aesthetic to the drone and the round at the back of the hull is replaced by a square piece. Those who would like to avoid spending twenty euros on a set stamped 4+ to obtain this minifig of Spider-Man therefore have the possibility of doing so.

The bag does not escape a mini-sheet of stickers with three stickers to apply, two on the hull of the drone and one for the panel bearing the inscription "Tower Bridge". The small leaflet comes packaged in a cardboard insert, so it will always arrive undamaged. LEGO also provides two Power Blasts whites in the bag, it's always taken.

The real question around this product: how to get this polybag without going through the secondary market and delighting sellers who don't hesitate to remind you that they have access to this product and you don't? This sachet is not in principle intended to be offered on the official store and it is available for resellers who wish to sell it individually or to associate it with one of their promotional offers.

This polybag is currently available in Canada at Toys R Us (4.94 CAD), in Luxembourg at LToys (5.99 €) who sells them on Bricklink or in Germany at JB Spielwaren (3.99 €) when they have stock. I haven't seen it on the shelves of a French brand yet, it's up to you to tell me if you've come across it in your favorite toy store.

Note: The polybag presented here is as usual put into play. Deadline fixed at 9th February 2022 next at 23pm.

40532 lego vintage taxi gwp 2022 8

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO set 40532 Vintage Taxi, a small box of 163 pieces which will be offered on the official online store and in LEGO Stores from 200 € of purchase without restriction of range from January 28, 2022.

The affiliation of this small promotional product stamped 18+ with the world of Modulars is obvious with a vehicle, a piece of sidewalk and a minifig, LEGO even taking up the aesthetics of the packaging of the 2022 edition, the set 10297Boutique Hotel (199.99 €), with the green banner at the foot of the construction. It can therefore be understood that some purchasers of the Structure 2022 who didn't wait to buy the set are a little frustrated at not being able to take advantage of this offer and will have to resign themselves to spending another €200 to add this taxi and its minifig to their collection.

The 6-stud wide vehicle to be assembled here seems rather successful to me, even if in my opinion it lacks enough to definitively endorse its taxi function. A sticker on the doors, for example, would have made it possible to assert more definitively the role of this vehicle in the streets of LEGOModularCity. The confusion is also maintained by the one and only minifig delivered in this box, it is presented as a possible passenger accompanied by its suitcase but LEGO also puts it in scene at the wheel of the vehicle. Driver or passenger, we don't really know. I will spare you the detail of the construction process, the photos below speak for themselves and everything is assembled in a few minutes. No stickers in this box.

By ridding the vehicle of the two parts that form the light signal on the roof, you get a pretty old car that can circulate in the streets of your dioramas. The most demanding can also replace the few visible yellow parts to obtain something even more successful.

As soon as the first visuals of the product were posted online, some fans saw it as a nod to the donut thief of the Structure 2021, the benchmark 10278 Police Station (179.99 €). Why not even if only the face and the beret of the minifig can refer to last year's figurine, the torso being different.

The presence of the donut will however be enough to make the link for those who absolutely want to find a reference there. The torso used here is quite common, it has also been found in about fifteen sets since 2018. The face of the driver/passenger is also a regular in LEGO sets, it made its first appearance on the shoulders of the owner of the set shop LEGO Ideas 21310 Old Fishing Store in 2017.

This small promotional product with polished packaging and rather successful content will require you to spend 200 € on the official online store and we could consider that this minimum purchase amount is not so high as it seems when we look at the official price of some boxes.

It will therefore be up to everyone to see if the offer is worth the effort, knowing that the secondary market will not fail to be invaded by copies of this box in the days following its launch. The sellers will then fight among themselves to sell their stock and it will probably be possible to obtain this small set at a reasonable price without having to pay a box at a high price on the official online store. A slightly funny detail: the purchase of the set 10297Boutique Hotel will not be enough, it is only sold for 199.99 €...

10784 lego marvel spider-man webqauerters hangout 1

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Marvel set 10784 Spider-Man's Webquarters Hangout, a small box of 155 pieces marketed at the public price of €49.99 since January 1, 2022. As usual with products stamped 4+ and therefore intended for a very young audience tired of large DUPLO bricks, there is no point in relate the reduced inventory of the product to its high retail price. LEGO targets a very specific clientele: that of parents who absolutely want to offer the best toys to their children and not regret later having deprived them of these high-end products which could have helped them to succeed in their lives.

To put this set in context, this is a spin-off from the anime series. Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends broadcast since 2021 on the American channel Disney Junior. Peter Parker (Spidey), Gwen Stacy (Ghost Spider), Spin (Miles Morales), Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Black Panther confront a few super villains like Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Rhino over the course of the episodes. A few 5/6 minute animated shorts introducing the series and its characters are already available on Disney+ under the title Marvel meets Spidey and his Extraordinary Friends, the full 24-minute first season episodes are expected to follow shortly.

We therefore have 155 pieces left to assemble in this box and unsurprisingly these are mostly very large items. LEGO dissects the process over three separate booklets which allow the passage to share the very short experience with several people, the whole thing is assembled in a few minutes. The result obtained: a somewhat basic playset but which offers rather interesting gameplay for the youngest with two slides, a basketball hoop and two vehicles.

10784 lego marvel spider-man webqauerters hangout 2

LEGO takes advantage of this mini-range to introduce a large handful of new elements. Most of these parts will have a hard time finding a place in the "classic" ranges, but they may find a use for MOCers who know how to make good use of them. I really like the cobwebs that can be clipped to eventually make a hanging cell or a hammock, hard to imagine better. The large claws hung on the sides of Gwen Stacy's speeder are pink, it will be necessary to imagine for example a mech taking up the very acid colors to integrate them. A slightly more versatile blue version of this element is present in the set 10783 Spider-Man at Doc Ock's Lab (29.99 €).

If you missed the defunct VIDIYO range, here you have a new opportunity to recover the pink guitar already seen in the sets 43102 Candy Mermaid Beatbox (19.99 €) and 43111 Candy Castle Stage (23.99 €), even if the massive destocking currently underway on VIDIYO references pleads in favor of the two sets mentioned. LEGO could have made the effort to stamp Green Goblin's pumpkin to transform it into a slightly more aggressive explosive and the WEB-STER AI would have deserved a larger screen but we will do with these aesthetic approximations.

The real advantage of these sets intended for a very young audience: everything is pad-printed, not the shadow of a sticker in the box. We therefore obtain a few elements that could possibly come to flesh out a diorama, as long as the motif concerned is not too childish or irrelevant. The big half-globe with the head of Spidey is well in the series, it also refers to the format of the characters of the animated series with their oversized head.

As for the five minifigs provided, it should be kept in mind that this is the LEGO version of a cartoon interpretation of the different characters. Short but articulated legs for everyone, exaggerated facial expressions and somewhat symbolic designs, we often border on caricature for these variants which should however interest collectors. LEGO also misses the opportunity to add the colored watches worn on the screen by the different characters. The least successful minifig of the lot remains in my opinion that of Green Goblin, it lacks some details seen in the series on the headdress and shoulders of the character and LEGO recycles here in the state the element already seen in 2019 on the minifigure head from the set 76133 Spider-Man Car Chase. The use of neutral legs only reinforces the somewhat "empty" side of the figurine as is also the case for Ms. Marvel who loses her pretty pair of sneakers and her cape during her adaptation as a LEGO minifig.

This set is the most expensive of the range currently made up of four references and so there are other more economical opportunities to obtain some of the never-before-seen minifigs provided in this box if you do not want Miss Marvel: Gwen Stacy is also in the set 10783 Spider-Man at Doc Ock's Lab (29.99 €), Miles Morales and Green Goblin are in the set 10781 Spider-Man's Techno Trike (9.99 €) and Spidey comes in the sets 10782 Hulk vs. Rhino Truck Showdown (19.99 €) and 10783 Spider-Man at Doc Ock's Lab (29.99 €). LEGO makes the effort to provide us with Trace-E, the little mechanical spider that accompanies Spidey in the series. The piece would have deserved to be more accomplished with pad-printed tabs, but it will do the trick.

10784 lego marvel spider-man webqauerters hangout 8

On the one hand, LEGO goes there frankly by offering us new versions of the different characters and on the other hand makes the inevitable savings of candle ends by sacrificing the pad printing of the legs. It's a bit of a shame, all the characters have big boots which reinforce the cartoon effect on the screen, it will be necessary to do without them with LEGO derivative products. The torsos seem successful to me, they are not as detailed as some of the minifigs usually available in the Marvel range but the minimalist spirit of the animated series is there. We can also regret that LEGO does not offer us the faces of the different characters, they nevertheless appear quite often on the screen and the possibility of choosing between the "masked" version and the face of each of the protagonists with for example a half mask - put on in the form of a pad-printed beanie would have been a real plus.

This set is a derivative product intended for the youngest who enter the Marvel universe through the animated series Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends and these new fans are bound to be more forgiving than we are of the few approximations and shortcuts used by LEGO. As a never-happy adult fan, however, I remain satisfied to be able to add a few superhero variants to my collection, the minifigs offered here being in my eyes quite acceptable. The retail price set at €49.99 is totally disconnected from my reality, it is probably much less so from that of the parents I was telling you about at the start of this review. Know that we already find this box at 41.99 € at Amazon Germany. Patience will surely be rewarded in the weeks and months to come.

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at 1er February 2022 next at 23pm.

21332 lego ideas the globe 2022 14

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Ideas set 21332 The Globe, a product inspired by the project Earth globe submitted by Disneybrick55 (Guillaume Roussel) on the LEGO Ideas platform in early 2020 and approved in September 2020. A year and a half later, LEGO finally gives us the official and definitive version of the idea in question, with an inventory of 2585 pieces and a public price fixed at 199.99 €.

Unlike other "ideas" largely reworked, or even completely reinterpreted by LEGO, the official version of this globe remains very faithful to the original project, both in appearance and in the proportions of the object. After all, those who voted for this idea shouldn't be disappointed to get exactly what they showed their support for.

Personally, I was hoping on the contrary that the handling of the project by a designer from Billund would allow us to obtain a more successful product, but this is not really the case, apart from a few details. The initial idea is however very interesting and I was one of those who imagined that LEGO was going to put all its know-how to work to convince us that it is possible to make a beautiful round ball out of bricks. Even a year and a half later, it is not so. On the bright side: Guillaume Roussel will be able to autograph a box containing a product that visually conforms to the idea he proposed.

LEGO does not forget to throw a few flowers from the first pages of the instruction booklet by associating this product with its various initiatives in terms of environmental protection and, by extension, the planet. Why not, even if it is ultimately a plastic product delivered in a box too big for what it contains with a large handful of plastic bags and a large paper booklet. To go through with this discreet recovery of the product to promote its efforts, LEGO could have thrown in the box some of the new paper bags to replace the plastic ones, it was the perfect opportunity to introduce this evolution. logistics, hitherto reserved for the set 4002021 The (Ninjago) Temple of Celebrations offered this year to employees and partners of the group, to the general public.

As you can imagine, there is nothing really exciting about assembling this globe, which is neither perfectly round nor very smooth: it's a ball fixed on a support and we therefore spend our time reproducing the "slices" that successively constitute the surface of the object. Of the 16 sachets of the set, 4 are dedicated to the support, 3 to the central circle which is itself made up of identical sub-assemblies and 8 to the cover of the globe in small slices all identical in their design, with a variation on their decoration. depending on their position on the surface of the object. It's the product that wants it and it was logically difficult to escape the repetitive aspect of assembly but you will not have the best assembly experience of your life as a LEGO fan. For those wondering where the 2585 pieces of the set are, know that the cover of the globe only uses nearly 500 elements, the rest is in the support and the internal structure of which you will find an overview below.

21332 lego ideas the globe 2022 15

The support is very convincing, it is aesthetically successful with a few touches of golden strapping sprinkled on a structure that imitates wood quite well. The vintage effect is there, we are in the theme. Things go a little wrong when it comes to moving on to the internal structure and the surface of the globe and this is where you really become aware of the very approximate adjustments between the different slices. This defect is obvious because we are in the process of assembling the product, it will fade a little when the globe is exposed and seen from a certain distance if the positioning of the clips which are used to connect the slices at the ends of the surface was perfectly executed.

The assembled product is solid and stable. It must be gripped by the base to avoid dropping a few plates, but the internal structure is well designed. Contrary to what some might imagine, the four wheels with their yellow rims and their tires are not involved in the rotation mechanism of the product, it is just a ballast that returns the globe to its predefined presentation position.

There are no stickers in this box and all patterned elements are therefore stamped. The oceans and continents are identified but you will not progress much in geography with this globe. The scale of the construction requires that the smallest continents be reduced to a few pieces that struggle a little to reproduce the usual curves of these terrestrial spaces. Once again, it will be necessary to take a step back and observe the object from a good distance so that the geographical simplification is less penalizing and that the identification of certain countries is possible, often by deduction. It should be noted in passing that Oceania is absent, LEGO only locating Australia in this area. The Arctic Ocean and the Southern Ocean are not identified.

The different small Tiles identification of continents and oceans are phosphorescent. It's not very interesting but it compensates for the impossibility of integrating internal lighting into the product as on the globes of our childhood, the external surfaces being matt. The typeface used by LEGO for these different elements seems to me a little off topic: The graphic designer has probably tried to obtain a vintage effect but we come close to Comic Sans and I find the result a bit disappointing. The fan designer of the product will at least have the satisfaction of having his initials present on the edge of the Dish white representing Antarctica (GR for Guillaume Roussel), you won't really see them when the product is assembled, but you will know it's there.

Beware of the finish defect sometimes encountered on the golden pieces, my copy of the set did not escape this problem (see photo below) but only a small 1x1 piece was concerned. Fortunately, LEGO provides many additional elements and I was able to replace the affected element. I was also missing a black piece which in principle fits on the upper part of the central axis.

21332 lego ideas the globe 2022 17

21332 lego ideas the globe 2022 19 1

The most demanding will take care to orient the cover plates and their green or beige overlay with the LEGO logo in the direction of the hemisphere concerned. I didn't have that patience but you only see tenons on arrival and it might be wise to think about this detail before starting assembly. There will remain the possibility of using these visible tenons to mark, for example, with the help of a small red piece, the different destinations visited by the owner of the object.

On arrival and as I said at the beginning of this review, we can't decently blame LEGO for having sabotaged the original idea. The official product is visually identical to the reference project and that, as far as I'm concerned, is the problem with this set. I find that LEGO confuses here "vintage", "kitsch" and "old-fashioned", notions that often overlap or are in any case very porous between them, with a rendering that generally sends me back to the 90s/2000s with their lots official sets that have often aged very badly. Too banal for vintage, too dated for LEGO.

The assortment of blue/green colors reinforces in my eyes this somewhat cheesy aspect of the object and the curves which are not really do not help, just like the empty spaces between the different sections. At 200 € the pure exhibition product intended for an adult clientele, in my opinion the whole thing frankly lacks finish and contrast between visible tenons and smooth surfaces to, for example, create a difference in texture between the continents and the oceans. The assembly does not even save the furniture, we get a bit bored with a systematic repetition of the same sub-assemblies.

I don't find either the aesthetics of a really old globe or that of the colored object that I knew during my childhood with its integrated bulb and in front of which I was bored in my spare time discovering countries or capitals. This globe is a mix between two eras and two objects which ultimately had only their round shape in common with a decorative side for one and a more educational ambition for the other.

As you will have understood, I am personally not convinced by this globe which I find a little coarse and falsely vintage. We know that LEGO sometimes has trouble producing curves with square pieces, this product which frankly lacks finish in my eyes is a new brilliant demonstration of this and it's a bit of a shame. The initial version of the project had already roughed the file, yet all that was missing was an effort on the finish to convince me.

Other "imitation" products from the LEGO lifestyle universe, such as the typewriter in the set 21327 Typewriter, the piano of the set 21323 Grand Piano or the guitar of the set 21329 Fender Stratocaster all benefit from a finish that allows them to deserve to be proudly displayed. In my opinion, this is not the case with this globe. As it is, it seems that the designer in charge of the project did not want to spend too much time on it and that LEGO thought that the technique used for the surface of the globe was sufficiently accomplished to deserve ending up on the shelves. some stores.

Either Guillaume Roussel aka Disneybrick55 had indeed found the best possible solution to produce a globe based on LEGO bricks and the official designer could not do better, either LEGO wanted to get rid of the file quickly and settled for the bare minimum. We know since his participation in the first season of the LEGO Masters show that Guillaume Roussel is a talented creator, my first guess may be the right one. Whatever the explanation, it will be without me, especially at 200 €, a price range in which we find products with a more accomplished aesthetic and a much more entertaining assembly experience.

Tastes and colors are indisputable and this product which gathered the 10.000 supporters necessary for its passage in the review phase and then was definitively validated by LEGO will obviously find its audience. Complete collectors of the very heterogeneous LEGO Ideas range will find it difficult to ignore this new reference and there will inevitably be a few lovers of decorative products to find a place of choice for this globe in their interior. You have my opinion, it's up to you to make yours.

40491 lego year of the tiger 2022 1

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO set 40491 Year of the Tiger, a small box of 193 pieces offered currently and until January 27, 2022 if the stock allows it from 85 € of purchase. It is now a tradition since 2013, the manufacturer celebrates each year the animal in the spotlight in the Chinese zodiac with a small promotional product and it is therefore the turn of the tiger to go through the LEGO grinder in 2022.

The animal and its base are quickly assembled and the result is rather pleasant to watch. It is as usual a very cartoon interpretation of the animal but we obtain a construction perfectly matched with those of previous years. Despite the compactness of the model, this tiger still has some moving parts: the tail and the ears. The head is fixed, it cannot be oriented to allow for example a three-quarter presentation as was the case on the buffalo in the set 40417 Year of the Ox offered last year. For the rest, this tiger looks great, it does not look too much like a cat and the finish of the back of the construction is very correct.

40491 lego year of the tiger 2022 6

40491 lego year of the tiger 2022 7

As every year, the product includes a "red envelope" which allows you to respect tradition: in Asia people offer money to their loved ones on the occasion of the New Year celebrations and you can therefore also comply with this custom. thanks to the envelope provided which is not red on the outside but whose interior is the traditional color. The box even allows you to personalize the thing with a label on which it is possible to indicate the name of the recipient and the origin of the gift. Only problem, the envelope being in the box, you will first have to open the set to deposit the money and offer everything afterwards. The flap packaging is well resealable, but there will always be the cut-out transparent sticker.

It's not the product of the year, but if you already have the seven animals already offered so far by LEGO, you can hardly ignore this one knowing that the entire collection is based on the same principle. of "cartoonization". The minimum purchase amount required to be offered this small box valued after LEGO at €9.99 is €85 this year, as was already the case last year to obtain the set 40417 Year of the Ox. In 2020 it was enough 80 € to get a copy of the set 40355 Year of the Rat.
