And it is with a representation under LDD of the Y-Wing model designed by Colin Cantwell ( BTL-P1 Y-Wing Prototype ) painted by Ralph McQuarrie , the recently deceased official illustrator of the Star Wars saga, that Scott Peterson pays tribute in his own way to this artist who was very popular with fans.
Scott Peterson is also behind an interesting Cuusoo project revolving around the lightsabers of the saga, which I told you about a few weeks ago.
Using original illustrations by Ralph McQuarrie , this rather talented MOC builder recreated this original Y-wing model, the ancestor of the one we all know. I read elsewhere that the canopy covering the gunner's compartment was abandoned on the final model due to limitations of special effects techniques at the time, which prevented the transparent canopy from being properly integrated.
