For those who followed the comments on the article about the sticker for set 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter , here's a tutorial by Phil that reveals the technique used to achieve a visually flawless result. I'm sharing it here as is; it's up to you to apply your sticker.

Step 1 : Carefully cut out the inside of the stickers using a new blade and a ruler.

Step 2 : Degrease the part with household alcohol to remove grease residue from the demolding process.
Step 3 : We do as LEGO said, we remove the part around the design (Be sure to use the nice drawings in the instructions!)

Step 4 : The window is covered with water and dish soap, and the sticker is placed on top: it slides off easily. The mixture neutralizes the adhesive's power (its dark side, so to speak)...
Step 5 : It's best to start by applying the small back design to get the hang of it, and then move directly to the larger one. I aligned the small black line above with the corner of the window. Once positioned, remove any moisture with a hairdryer (2 or 3 minutes) and then press down with your finger to adhere the sticker. Go slowly, this is when the design will start to shift!
Step 6 : And there you have it: No air bubbles, no fingerprints, easy positioning and perfect resistance! It took me 30 minutes, taking my time.
