For those who have followed the comments on l'article dealing with the set sticker 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter, here is a tutorial proposed by Phil which reveals the technique used to obtain a visually impeccable result. I deliver it to you here as is, it's up to you to stick your sticker.

If you have any other tips, feel free to share them with everyone in the comments.

A big thank you to Phil for his synthesis work (Images and text).

Step 1 : Careful cutting of the inside of the stickers using a new blade and a ruler.

Step 2 : Degreasing the part with household alcohol to remove grease residues from demoulding.

Step 3 : We do as LEGO said, we remove the part around the pattern (We must use the pretty drawings of the instructions!)

Step 4 : The glass is covered with water + washing-up liquid and the sticker placed on it: it slides easily. The mixture neutralizes the power of the glue (its dark side in a way) ...

Step 5 : It is better to start by placing the small pattern from behind to make your hand, and then tackle the large one directly. I made the small black line above coincide with the angle of the glass. Once positioned, we remove the humidity with a hair dryer (2 or 3 minutes) and we can press with the finger to make the sticker set. Take it easy, this is the moment chosen by the pattern to move treacherously!

Step 6 : And there you have it: No air bubbles, no fingerprints, easy positioning and perfect resistance! It took me 30 minutes to apply.
